In a Nutshell: Fox updates the legend of SLEEPY HOLLOW for an audience primed for a procedural-esque partnership.
When and Where: Monday’s at 9PM on FOX (Global TV in Canada).
The Good: Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci’s re-imagination of this iconic character has all the trappings of a Fox series in that is stylishly shot, slickly presented and stars a sexy relative unknown (Tom Mison’s) with a delightful British accent.
The Bad: Despite a bloody exciting opening and some interesting back-and-forth between Ichabod Crane and partner in [solving] crime Abbie Mills (Nicole Beharie), SLEEPY HOLLOW pretty much boils down to your run-of-the-mill police procedural with a twist.
The Verdict: Luckily for Fox, said aforementioned twist is a bloody cool one that will most certainly see us giving the show a second and perhaps third shot to prove that it’s more than simply a mash-up of SUPERNATURAL, GRIMM and BONES.
