Meet Marian: Christie Laing Talks ONCE UPON A TIME Season 4, Frozen Fun and Relationship with Robin Hood
Christie Laing shook things up last season on ONCE UPON A TIME, playing Marian. Marian and Robin Hood’s (Sean Maguire) relationship will definitely be addressed this season. I spoke with Laing about the Frozen characters joining the show, Mariana and Robin Hoods fate, and what we can look forward to on tonight’s premiere.
What can you tell us about next season on the show? Do we pick up right where we left off in the premiere?
Christie Laing: I can’t tell you much but I can tell you that it’s going to be a very cold introduction to Season 4.
What is one fairy tale character you personally would love to see on the show?
I would love to see Jasmine!
What’s in store for Marian and Robin Hood?
Robin and Marian have some catching up to do and I hope the viewers are looking forward to seeing how that goes.
What was your reaction when you found out your character may ruin the Queens last chance at love?
I felt for the situation but also related to the fact that love often doesn’t go how you expect it too. I don’t think any matters of the heart are black and white, which is one of many things I enjoy about OUAT.
What can you tell us about Elsa and Anna? Are you a fan of Frozen?
Now that Frozen is coming to OUAT I certainly have caught up on my Frozen knowledge and it’s very cool. I can tell you that you will be seeing Anna and Elsa and I think fans will be very interested to follow along with their story within the world of OUAT.
Were you a fan of the show before you were cast? How was the audition process for you?
After being cast as Marian I did begin following the show to get a feel for it. Marian, as we all know, didn’t stick around for very long following her Season 2 appearance but I did keep up to date since it was such a fantastic show so I was thrilled to know I would be coming back. Auditioning for OUAT was very quick. I read a scene that gave no indication to the character, and shortly after received the call that Marian was in fact whom I would be playing.

THE GOOD WIFE! GOTHAM! SCANDAL! THE MINDY PROJECT! The TV Addict Week in Rewind
Best Guest Star: THE MINDY PROJECT scored a homerun by casting Rhea Pearlman as Danny’s TV Guide loving, girlfriend hating hypercritical mom, Annette. Here’s hoping she swings by from time to time!
Best First Impression: Despite being on screen for less than a minute, Cory Michael Smith managed to perfectly capture Edward Nigma — aka The Riddler — in the pilot of GOTHAM.
Most Relatable Moment: SLEEPY HOLLOW’s Ichabod may be, like, 250 years old, but everyone who’s ever been the victim of an unwanted surprise party nodded when he declared, “Is there no end to this birthday madness?”
Least Consequential Death: While the two-hour finale of DALLAS’ third season featured great moments and numerous cliffhangers, the highly-touted “Which Ewing will die?” teaser wound up being kinda pointless. Does anybody really care that Christopher — who was barely even in the episode — bit the dust?
Best Passing Glance: SCANDAL delivered on just about everything fans could want… especially in that closing shot of Olivia and Fitz walking past one another, eyes straight ahead, fingers practically twitching with the desire to touch… never has a scene with so little physical contact caused so much swooning. BONES Recap: Our Top 5 Moments From the Show’s Tragic Tenth Season Premiere!
When last we left our dynamic duo, they were in dire straits. Booth was groggy in the hospital and accused of killing officers who came to his house merely to serve him a warrant, as Brennan was dragged away to be questioned.
There’s a possible conspiracy at the FBI. Someone is blackmailing judges and politicians, and the whole joint is corrupt.
It’s now three months later, and it appears nothing came of Brennan’s questioning, since she’s back at work. The good news is, he’s no longer in the hospital. The bad news is, he’s in prison. In general population. Let me break it down for you with a top five! [Read more…]

GREY’S ANATOMY Recap: “I Must Have Lost It on the Wind”
There is one way I know fall is here. It’s not the leaves changing or the air getting colder, it’s hearing Dr. Meredith Grey’s (Ellen Pompeo) voice talking while we pan over a Seattle skyline. For more than a decade that’s the voice we’ve waited for to let us know it’s time. Time to get on the roller coaster that is Shondaland and strap in for the bumpy ride that this GREY’S ANATOMY season will be.
The eleventh season kicked off with Meredith narrating a flashback featuring her mother and a much younger toddler Meredith, anatomy Jane doll in hand. Cut to present day and Meredith is in bed with Alex (Justin Chambers). Looks like he’s the new Cristina. (Sandra Oh) Speaking of Dr. Yang, can we talk about the “page Dr. Yang” line because that’s way too soon and completely not okay.
Did I mention GEENA DAVIS? No? Her part in the premiere was short for the most part but it didn’t matter, she was still flawless. It seems that her and Arizona (Jessica Capshaw) might be working together in the future. She seems a bit tough on Arizona but I can see them working well together.
Another new doctor we haven’t seen much of is Dr. Pierce. I can see people liking her…eventually. She’s likeable which tends to be a popular quality in Meredith’s surprise half sisters. I say “eventually” because for the most part people tend to side with Meredith and if she’s not a fan of Pierce’s then I’m not on board with her either.
It was no surprise Meredith and Dr. Pierce argued and didn’t hit it off. I’m sure once Meredith learns the truth she will want to at least get to know her better and give her a chance. With the way this episode ended I don’t see Dr. Pierce telling her anytime soon.
The episode ended with Derek (Patrick Dempsey) ultimately deciding not to take the job in D.C. instead stay in Seattle with his family. This does not surprise me; it would have been very uncomfortable as a viewer to go back and forth from Seattle to D.C. just for Derek’s storyline. If they didn’t want to continue his storyline while he was away it would have been an unnecessary absence. Ultimately I think they made the right choice with making him stay and Grey Sloan Memorial.
Overall this was a solid return to one of my favorite fall shows. This season will definitely focus more on Meredith as well as Callie (Sara Ramirez) and Arizona’s relationship. I trust Shonda (Rhimes) and her writers and truly believe this will be one of the best seasons yet.
