Today’s TV Addict Top 5: Questions with FAKING IT Star Rita Volk
We saw a whole different side of Amy last week on the fan favorite- FAKING IT! We saw Amy let go of Karma (Katie Stevens) and give her and Liam (Gregg Sulkin) her blessing (Sort of). We also saw Lauren (Bailey De Young) and Theo (Keith Powers) share an adorable/ awkward moment. This week we get to see things get a little crazy at Hester High, from Fifth Harmony to love triangle drama. Tonight’s definitely an episode you won’t want to miss. I caught up with Rita Volk about tonight’s episode. We talked about Fifth Harmony appearing on the show, what’s in store for Amy in the coming weeks, and what we will see on tonight’s episode. THE OFFICE Star Gets BENCHED: Oscar Nuñez Previews His New Gig on His Hilarious New USA Network Comedy
One show that has been receiving a lot of buzz recently is the HAPPY ENDINGS-esque new USA Network comedy BENCHED by comedy geniuses, Michaela Watkins and Damon Jones. The comedy follows Nina; a hotshot lawyer whose life slowly starts falling apart right after her boyfriend breaks up with her. She loses her job as an attorney and finds herself fighting minor cases as a public defender. The show features a lot of fresh faces and some funny favorites. Definitely think this pilot will be a hit and something a lot of people will enjoy the show is funny and quirky and has a lot of heart. Oscar Nuñez plays Carlos on the freshman comedy. I caught up with Nuñez about his time on THE OFFICE, what drew him to BENCHED, and what we can look forward to on tonight’s premiere.
You were on THE OFFICE for so many seasons. Is there a specific episode or season that stands out to you as one of your favorites?
It would probably have to be the one Greg Daniels wrote specifically for when Oscar came out of the closet, while Michael Scott (Steve Carell) dragged him out of the closest. That would be my favorite episode because I got to play with Steve Carell a lot.
Did you take anything from your time at THE OFFICE and apply it to BENCHED?
Just to have that under your belt, nine years of being on a show. You don’t get nervous; they can’t throw anything new at you because you’ve been through the whole thing.
What drew you to BENCHED?
My friend Damon Jones who is one of the creators said “Hey there might be a part for you here, we’d love for you to be in the pilot.” And I read it and I thought it was so funny. My wife read it and we thought this is very smart and very and very funny, of course we would expect nothing less from Michaela (Watkins) and Damon.
How is working with them? How is their writing style, is it something you’re used to?
I was used to it because they were groundlings and I was a groundling and Jim Cashman, one of the writers was a groundling. Michael McDonald came in and directed an episode, Jim Rash, Molly Shannon; a bunch of groundlings came and played with us. It was a lot of fun!
What can you tell us about your character on the show?
They are all public defenders that work in downtown Los Angeles and he wants to fight the good fight and help the people that can’t help themselves. They’re overworked and get paid so little, sometimes you get frustrated and you like the people and you work with and hate them at the same time.
Is there an episode this season that you’re really excited for people to see?
There is an episode where Jay (Harrison) and I are going out and having a boy’s night and that was a lot of fun. I had a lot of fun shooting some scenes outdoors in LA at nighttime; it was a lot of fun.
What can you tell us about the Pilot?
It starts off; she’s a high-powered attorney she’s got a cushy job and something happens where she loses her job and ends up with us in downtown LA. She goes from the ivory castle down to the trenches with us.
You can watch BENCHED tonight on USA Network at 10:30. (Comedy Network in Canada)

THE ORIGINALS “Live and Let Die” Redux: The Official Start of Klaus and Cami!
A lot happened in last night’s The Originals and I would love to recap that for you, I really would, but alas I can’t because I can only think about the Klaus and Cami scenes. This episode was a huge step in the right direction for the Klaus/Cami relationship and it was about time. This show has been skating around one of its best and most interesting dynamics. Klaus and Cami are complicated but they also have chemistry pouring out of every ounce of their beings. So let’s get into all the epicness that was Klaus and Cami this episode.
It started with Cami admitting two things that I’ve thought since last season: her and Marcel are going nowhere (because she is probably just a rebound) and that Klaus is someone she cares about. While Cami didn’t technically admit that she cares about Klaus, she didn’t say that he has gotten under her skin. She also said this fantastic quote: “Under all that anger and mistrust, there’s goodness in him and no matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t pretend it wasn’t there.” The question of if there’s goodness in Klaus is pretty much the question that the entire show is based around but there is good in Klaus when it comes to Cami. ONCE UPON A TIME! GENERAL HOSPITAL! GREY’S ANATOMY! BREAKING BAD! The TV Addict Week in Rewind
Biggest Irony: Even as Walt Disney World confirmed that the gigantic sorcerer’s hat at the center of Disney’s Hollywood Studios would be taken down in 2015, ONCE UPON A TIME made the hat (as well as the walking broomstick) from Fantasia central to their storyline.
Schemiest Team: As mother/daughter duo Nina and Madeline, GENERAL HOSPITAL’s Michelle Stafford and Donna Mills turned in stunning performances as their alter egos went from combatants to reluctant co-conspirators, kicking off a storyline that promises to be one heck of a wild ride.
Most Overdue Breakup: After what felt like 20 years of bickering, GREYS ANATOMY’s Callie and Arizona finally went their separate ways.
Best Role Reversal: The final moments of Sunday’s THE GOOD WIFE illustrated just how far the titular character has come by having Peter take a supportive role to Alicia, perfectly mirroring the opening episode in which she stood by her scandal-plagued hubby.
Best Backhanded Compliment: THE WALKING DEAD’s Gareth told Bob, “You taste much better than we thought you would,” while chowing down on his leg! [Read more…]
