THE ORIGINALS Recap: “The Brothers That Care Forgot”
This episode of THE ORIGINALS started in the best way possible with a Rebekah and baby Hope sighting. We also got a great Hayley/Cami bonding moment, Mikaelson sibling drama and Davina be annoying to the nth degree. Let’s dig in.
Rebekah and Hope are playing in a park when Rebekah notices a crow watching them. And if that wasn’t creepy enough when she looked back a second time, she saw about 15 crows watching them. At the same time, Elijah and Klaus are having a family meal with Finn and Kol (who are still in shackles) during which Klaus tries to convince them to join his side. Finn isn’t very persuadable and tells his brothers that Esther is looking for Rebekah. The threat to Rebekah and Hope is too much for Elijah and he takes a bite out Finn’s neck. Rebekah calls Elijah to tell him that Esther has found her. Klaus says to head west and Elijah will meet her. [Read more…]
‘MasterChef Junior’: Finalist Josh Reisner On Oona, School Lunches and That Adorable Voice
By Sean Daly
Special To TheTVAddict.com
It’s a mystery voice box challenge!
The parents of “MasterChef Junior” finalist Josh Reisner admit doctors are still trying to figure out what is causing the sixth grader’s voice to constantly squeak and crack.
“The more he speaks during the day, the more it cracks,” his father, Brad Reiser, says.
“It has been this way pretty much since he started talking. We have had the doctor check it out and this is just kind of his voice.”
Though the Queens resident is not in any pain, “we have had a lot of people contact us saying, ‘You should check that out,’” Reisner says. “So we are probably going to have it checked again.”
Josh, 11, is one of eight contestants remaining on the Fox cooking competition.
“It has been such a great experience,” the aspiring chef and food critic tells me.
“I have gained so much confidence and I get to brag that I have cooked for some of the greatest chefs in the world.”
Josh — who one day hopes to open a restaurant called Josh’s Comfort & Bistro — shared more about the show, his life and what he really thinks of school cafeteria food in our exclusive interview. [Read more…]

Review: The End Isn’t Necessarily Near for THE AFFAIR
The end has already come for Noah and Alison’s eight-week summer fling, but “The Affair” has only just begun.
Now that they’ve come clean to their respective spouses, the show must decide on a new hook. I’m just not sure the writers have any idea what that hook will be. Of course, there’s an obvious one – almost too obvious – by having Alison pregnant with Noah’s baby, just after Cole has said he wants to put Gabriel and the affair behind them and try to start a family again.
But up until now, the show has been keen on doing exactly what the audience wouldn’t expect. Is expecting the unexpected too much to expect from a show without a finite end point?
No one could have predicted that the titular tryst would be put on hold after six episodes, or that after seven, Helen and Cole would be in-the-know. As soon as the show’s renewal was made public knowledge, I was all but sure the interrogations that helped shape the early part of this season would drag into season two. I was wrong. [Read more…]
