Marvel’s MOCKINGBIRD Series Lands ABC Pilot Order
Earlier this year, there was discussion about Marvel and ABC creating a spin-off from Marvel’s AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. but those plans were put to a halt until now. According to Variety, ABC is closing in on a deal to greenlight a pilot centered around Mockingbird titled Marvel’s MOST WANTED.
The drama will focus on S.H.I.E.L.D. characters Mockingbird and Lance Hunter. Adrianne Palicki and Nick Blood are set to reprise their roles in the prospective series. Right now it exists only as a pilot order with S.H.I.E.L.D. producers Jeff Bell and Paul Zbyszewski writing the script and aiming to serve as showrunner. Jeph Loeb will also be involved.
At this time, ABC has not made any decisions regarding a premiere date or if the series will intertwine with AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D.. When the idea was originally reported in April, ABC execs put it on the backburner to focus primarily on S.H.I.E.L.D., however, during the New York Upfronts this spring, president Paul Lee alluded to the possibility of it being resurrected, saying, “It certainly is a possibility of spinning them off.”
With AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. returning for Season 3 and AGENT CARTER returning for Season 2, it seems there’s still a large Marvel demand at ABC.
Watch The First 3 Minutes Of AMC’s FEAR THE WALKING DEAD
FEAR THE WALKING DEAD, the companion series to the popular AMC hit The Walking Dead debuts this Sunday, but you don’t have to wait that long to get a sneak peek of what’s to come. AMC’s Facebook page has released a three minute preview which sets up the opening of the pilot episode. View it here.
The show takes place in Los Angeles during the time that Rick Grimes is in his coma. While it focuses on the beginning of the outbreak, its origins will remain unexplained as on The Walking Dead. It will central around two schoolteachers, Travis (Cliff Curtis) and Madison (Kim Dickens), who both have children from different marriages.
In the clip, one of the core cast members, Nick (Frank Dillane), wakes up in a decrepit church in search of his girlfriend. After stumbling across a dead body, Nick does eventually find her but she’s feasting on what’s left of another corpse. At some point it’s safe to assume he will escape the church, as the first preview showed him fleeing from somewhere, while the rest of the city carries on as normal. For the time being.
The series premieres this Sunday at 9PM on AMC.

Could MARVEL’S AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. Lose Melinda May?
Is Agent May departing Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. in Season 3? Actress Ming-Na Wen is hinting at such. After the HYDRA reveal in the first season and the introduction of the Inhumans in Season 2, it seems May isn’t entirely sure that her heart lies with S.H.I.E.L.D. any longer.
TVGuide got the chance to sit down with Wen to discuss her future on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.. [Read more…]
