TAKEN will be making its way to the small screen as Variety has confirmed that NBC has greenlit a straight-to-series order on a prequel adaptation of the popular movies. It will hail from Luc Besson, who wrote the original film franchise. It is unclear at this time whether Liam Neeson will be attached to the project in any way. The series plans to follow a young Bryan Mills – who at that point is not married and has no children, in order to explain how exactly he acquired his expert skills – yes, those skills. It is set to take place in modern day rather than decades in the past. TAKEN first premiered in 2008, and was such a hit at the box office, it resulted in two sequels in 2012 and 2015. The show is still missing a writer and showrunner but the search is already underway.
