Everywhere on dramas this fall, there are clashes between the FBI and the CIA, and the clash is equally key to recent events on LIMITLESS.
Last week, Brian Finch acted out his own “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off,” but it ended up being a day off from the FBI in the worst way. After Brian’s FBI handlers left, the CIA carted him away for his “first black ops,” where after a good tazing he found himself deep in the forested heart of Pennsylvania. What at first appeared to be an attempt to bring in a Russian agent from the cold ended up being an attempted vendetta killing and then, even more intriguingly, an attempted bounty hunt for millions of dollars. It was up to Brian to trick the CIA’s team into knocking each other off to save himself and the Russian and, finally, be rescued by the FBI.
When CJC team leader Naz learned that Brian was “borrowed” by the CIA for black ops duty, she took risks and did everything within her power to find him and bring him back alive. And that leads us to this week’s episode.
Naz will fly to Washington, D.C., to meet with her Deputy Director. If things go as she expects, there will be no problem. But if they go unexpectedly, Naz doesn’t trust the CIA and she wants to protect Brian. So she sets him up in a very swank safe house, some fake I.D., and cash. Because if the CIA finds out the truth about Brian, they won’t keep him in safe house doing case work, they will keep him locked in a cell conducting medical research on him.
As you can imagine, things don’t go well for Naz, who is detained for funding terrorism. Brian and Agent Harris try to clear her name, leading them to Naz’s daughter who unveils a family secret that Naz hasn’t disclosed to the FBI. It only gets more interesting from there.
