The holidays are coming to THE FLASH, and so are some familiar faces, including Mark Mardon, Captain Cold and the Trickster. In fact, Mardon returns to break Captain Cold and the Trickster out of Iron Heights prison so the trio can have a little bit of fun.
We suspect that Flash and his friends will manage to stop the villains from ruining Christmas, but what else will happen with our heroes in the mid-season finale? During a trip to the Vancouver set this fall, the cast teased the upcoming episode for us.
“I’ve got some fun dialogue with Jay,” teased Danielle Panabaker, going on to hint that Caitlin is celebrating Christmas “with some mistletoe”.
The midseason episode “is a lot about family. It’s a big plot point for Iris this season,” said Candice Patton. And she’s not wrong, because Wally West will be making an appearance at the West house for the holidays. “It’s a good Christmas episode, just like the last one [we did]. Good villain, good love and good heart.”
Expect “a lot of Patty and Barry,” Grant Gustin hinted. “That’s when things are shifting a little bit with their relationship. I won’t say how, but things are kind of changing in a way. Maybe getting a little harder, in a way. It was my favorite script that I read for season 2 thus far.”
We’ve also seen Barry work more on developing new skills this season, but Gustin said that something specific is coming up the mid-season finale. “In the mid-season finale Barry does another thing with his powers that he kind of, in the moment, discovers that he’s never done before. It’s definitely something we’ve never seen him do.”
Don’t miss the mid-season finale of THE FLASH on December 8 at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.
