Alison just wants to experience a normal rite of passage on this week’s MADAM SECRETARY, but that’s not always in the cards when your mother is the Secretary of State.
In “Higher Learning”, Alison and Stevie question whether Elizabeth should accompany Alison on a routine college visit because of the necessary entourage that will have to travel with them. But Elizabeth convinces the girls that she also wants to experience this rite of passage and she’s talked her security detail down to two cars only.
But there’s just one little hitch — before they head out Elizabeth needs to pop in to the office to deal with some protests in Chile about a U.S. company mining for gold. It turns out that the U.S. company bought the rights to mine the gold fair and square, but now Chile is getting cold feet about the deal. And when Elizabeth and Alison head to the school, she’s ambushed by protesters about the situation in Chile.
Elsewhere in the episode, Henry, Jane and Jose try to track down Jibral Disah’s third wife, Hijriyyah.
Don’t miss an all new episode of MADAM SECRETARY tonight (March 20) at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT on CBS.
