Fox is bringing two films to the small screen this season. The first is horror film THE EXORCIST. The second is action-adventure movie LETHAL WEAPON. In the Fox version of the movie series, classic cop duo Riggs and Murtaugh are back, although this time they’re working the beat in modern-day Los Angeles.
When Martin Riggs loses his young wife and unborn child, he heads to California to rebuild his life. The LAPD pairs him up Roger Murtaugh, who is returning to the force after a near-fatal heart attack. Murtaugh is a very by-the-book sort of cop, while Riggs just dives headfirst into danger, which leaves the pair at odds.
Their first case together involves Riggs dragging Murtaugh on a high-speed chase and a seaport shootout with drug dealers. While Murtaugh isn’t happy about this behavior, he also realizes it’s the most alive he’s felt in years. As the new partners bond over their work and home lives, they both realize that this arrangement might work after all.

The cast includes Damon Wayans, Sr. as Roger Murtaugh, Clayne Crawford as Martin Riggs, Jordana Brewster as Dr. Maureen “Mo” Cahill, Kevin Rahm as Captain Brooks Avery and Keesha Sharp as Trish Murtaugh. Matt Miller, McG, Dan Lin, Jennifer Gwartz serve as executive producers.
LETHAL WEAPON will air on Wednesdays at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT this fall on Fox (see Fox’s full fall schedule).
