PITCH Preview: First Look at Fox’s New Baseball Drama Series

Ginny Baker is the first woman to play Major League Baseball in PITCH, the inspirational new drama series from Fox.

Called up by the San Diego Padres to make her MLB debut, Ginny is catapulted to instant fame. But like any other rookie, she needs to prove herself to her teammates. First and foremost among them is Mike Lawson, the team’s star catcher. The pair also have instant chemistry — something neither of them want to admit.

Ginny does have some allies, including her old friend from the minor leagues, center fielder Blip Sanders. And acting as her guide is agent Amelia Slater, who saw Ginny’s star potential early. Ginny was also guided by her demanding father, Bill Baker. As Ginny tries to represent her gender while embarking on a successful baseball career, she’ll be considered the most important historical figure in sports since Jackie Robinson.
