STRANGER THINGS Preview: First Look at Netflix’s New Mystery Series

STRANGER THINGS is being described as “a love letter to the ubiquitous cult classics of the 80’s”. The new Netflix series is set in Hawkins, Indiana in the 1980’s. A young boy vanishes under very suspicious circumstances, which prompts his mother (Winona Ryder) to open an investigation into the boy’s disappearance with the local authorities.

But soon strange details start emerging. There’s talk of top-secret government experiments, terrifying supernatural forces and one very, very strange young girl. Is there something sinister and strange behind this boy’s disappearance? The show is a “coming of age story for three boys that draws this quaint community into a world where mysteries lurk beneath the surface.”

STRANGER THINGS stars Winona Ryder (Joyce Byers), Matthew Modine (Dr. Brenner), David Harbour (Chief Hopper), Charlie Heaton (Jonathan Byers), Natalia Dyer (Nancy Wheeler), Millie Brown (Eleven), Finn Wolfhard (Mike Wheeler), Caleb McLaughlin (Lucas Sinclair), and Gaten Matarazzo (Dustin Henderson), and Cara Buono (Karen Wheeler).

STRANGER THINGS will be streaming on Netflix on July 15.
