LAST CHANCE U Renewed by Netflix for Season 2

Netflix has renewed the sports docuseries LAST CHANCE U for a second season. The show is about the latest recruits to Eastern Mississippi Community College (EMCC), an undefeated team with 3 consecutive National Championships under their belt. The EMCC Lions have become the superstars of junior college sports and have been attracting top athletes, some of whom have been held back by poor academic performance or behavioral issues. Each year, EMCC graduates more than 20 players into football scholarships at universities and nine current NHL players got their start at EMCC.

“We are thrilled to continue our relationship with Greg Whiteley who has genuinely captured both the struggles and triumphs these young men face in a world that often seems designed to hold them back,” Netflix VP of original documentary programming Lisa Nishimura said. “Coach Buddy Stephens, Academic Advisor Brittany Wagner and the entire team at EMCC have bravely opened their doors for the filmmakers to capture their real world as it unfolds. We eagerly anticipate having a front row seat as they continue to fight for their dreams in the coming season.”

LAST CHANCE U is currently streaming on Netflix.
