Joel McHale stars in CBS’s new comedy THE GREAT INDOORS. Hale is Jack, a famous adventure reporter for an outdoor magazine. But times are changing and soon Jack becomes a desk-bound boss to a group of millennials in the digital department of the publication.
Jack has enjoyed his outdoor life while globe-trotting around the world, so when his boss Roland (played by Stephen Fry) moves the magazine to digital-only, Jack is summoned back to the office to lead the online “journalists”.
Among Jack’s new team are “Clark, a tech nerd who knows everything about surviving on Mars and a zombie apocalypse; Emma, their social media expert who views Jack as the human version of dial-up; and Mason, a hipster-lumberjack who hasn’t spent any actual time outside.” Jack is also getting used to reporting to Roland’s daughter, Brooke, an ex-flame who caters to the sensitive staffers by giving them all trophies just for working hard.
THE GREAT INDOORS premieres tonight (October 27) at 8:30 p.m. ET/PT on CBS (U.S.) and Global (Canada).
