Netflix is exploring a mind-bending reality, death and the unknown in the new series THE OA.
Brit Marling and Zal Batmanglij (Sound of My Voice, The East), created and wrote the eight chapter, mind-bending odyssey together. When the show begins we meet Prairie Johnson (Brit Marling), a blind woman in her twenties who went missing years before. When she returns, however, her sight has been restored. Some people think that her return is miracle, while others believe she is a dangerous mystery. What we do know is that Prairie doesn’t talk about her seven missing years with her parents and the FBI.
Other cast members include Emory Cohen (Brooklyn, The Place Beyond the Pines), Scott Wilson (The Walking Dead, Junebug), Phyllis Smith (The Office), Jason Isaacs (Harry Potter, Fury, Dig), Alice Krige (Star Trek: First Contact, Silent Hill), Patrick Gibson (The Tudors), Brendan Meyer (Mr. Young, The Guest) and newcomers Ian Alexander and Brandon Perea.
THE OA launches globally Friday, December 16 on Netflix.
