GIRLBOSS, based on the best-selling book of the same name, is coming to Netflix in April as 13 half-hour episodes and the preview below gives us our first real peek at the new series.
Britt Robertson stars as Sophia Amoruso, the writer of the book that also happens to be the founder of the fashion brand Nasty Gal. Based loosely on the story of her life, GIRLBOSS focuses on Amoruso, who starts her career selling vintage clothes on eBay. Unfortunately, eBay turned against Amoruso, forcing her to rethink her career prospects. Instead of giving up on the idea entirely, she started her own retail website, Nasty Gal, and goes on to build a multi-million dollar business.
GIRLBOSS is created by and executive produced by Kay Cannon (Pitch Perfect 1 & 2, 30 Rock), who also serves as showrunner. Charlize Theron (Monster, Young Adult), Laverne McKinnon and Beth Kono of Denver & Delilah, Christian Ditter (How to Be Single) and Sophia Amoruso will also serve as executive producers.
The first season of GIRLBOSS will be streaming globally on Netflix on April 21.
