NBC Orders A.P. BIO to Series
Another IT’S ALWAYS SUNNY IN PHILADELPHIA star has gotten a series. This time it’s Glenn Howerton on the new NBC series A.P. BIO, which the network has picked up for the 2017-2018 season.
The show’s logline says the series revolves around “a hilariously cynical Ivy League professor [who] loses out on his dream job and goes to work as a high school biology teacher. There, he imposes his unorthodox teaching style and uses the kids to plot out revenge on those who wronged him.”
Patton Oswalt also stars in the series. SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE alums Lorne Michaels and Seth Meyers will executive produce the series.
SUPERGIRL Sneak Peek: The Good, The Bad And The Ugly-In-Law
As SUPERGIRL propels toward the explosive end of its second season, cast and crew are in high gear with words and actions.
In a short-for-tall trade-off between The CW and NBC, SUPERGIRL takes THIS IS US child-powerhouse, Lonnie Chavis, who plays the younger version of CW alum, Sterling K. Brown’s character on “Us,” guest stars tonight as Marcus, a young man with a possible connection to alien telekinetic powers.
James, searching for the telekinetic Phorian as Guardian, befriends Marcus, and the child puts all his trust in James, forcing Guardian to stop the attacks on the city.
Mehcad Brooks should have his best opportunity of the season to show off his acting chops as James poignantly interacts with his small guest star.
On the other end of the poignancy spectrum, Teri Hatcher continues to chew scenery with evil glee (pun intended) as Mon-El’s mom, Rhea, and turning in some of her best acting work ever as she makes Kara’s (Melissa Benoist) life miserable.
Against the President’s (Lynda Carter) wishes, the good guys cannot fathom why the evil foreign ruler (Rhea) is being protected by the White House.
If that does not spell it out for viewers where SUPERGIRL producers stand politically, the last two episodes of the season are titled, “Resist” and “Nevertheless, She Persisted.”
Regardless of their political leanings, viewers should check out tonight’s SUPERGIRL. Hatcher looks like she is having a blast playing the almost-mother-in-law from Hell, and Brooks is sure to bring a few tears in his interactions with Chavis.
It all provides a big buildup to the last two episodes. Look forward to a super-fight between Superman and the Girl of Steel, the return of Zod and a funeral.
Expect to see fan favorites, Calista Flockhart (Cat Grant), Lynda Carter (President Marsdin) and Tyler Hoechlin (Superman) to return for guest shots starting next week.
Tonight’s SUPERGIRL episode, “City of Lost Children,” was written by Robert Rovner (story) and Gabriel Llanas & Anna Musky-Goldwyn (teleplay). Ben Bray directed.
SUPERGIRL also stars Chyler Leigh, Jeremy Jordan, Floriana Lima, Chris Wood and David Harewood. Other guest stars are Andrea Brooks, Darcy Hinds, Sean Kohnke, Curtis Lum and Dominique Toney.
SUPERGIRL airs tonight (May 8) at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT on The CW in the U.S. and on Showcase in Canada.
NO TOMORROW and FREQUENCY Cancelled by The CW
The CW has officially cancelled NO TOMORROW and FREQUENCY. Both series were not ratings hits and were not given full-season orders by the network.
The third season that premiered on the network this season — RIVERDALE — did receive a season 2 pick-up recently. The CW also renewed seven of its existing shows, while the fate of iZOMBIE and THE ORIGINALS is still up in the air.
The network will be announcing its new 2017-2018 shows next week during its Upfront presentation.
ONCE UPON A TIME: Jennifer Morrison to Exit Series At the End of Season 6
Emma Swan is departing Storybrooke, ONCE UPON A TIME fans. The series is approaching the end of its six year contracts with its stars and hasn’t yet been renewed for a seventh season. There has been some talk that if the show were renewed it would have to change as several of the stars might want to depart.
Today Jennifer Morrison (Emma Swan) confirmed that she will be departing the series after season 6, although she is open to returning for one episode in season 7 if the show is renewed. She took to her Instagram to explain her decision:
“As I reached the end of my 6 year contract on ONCE UPON A TIME, I was faced with a significant decision. ABC, Eddy Kitsis, and Adam Horowitz very generously invited me to continue as a series regular. After very careful consideration, I have decided that creatively and personally, it is time for me to move on.”
“Emma Swan is one my favorite characters that I have ever played. My 6 years on ONCE UPON A TIME has changed my life in the most beautiful ways. I am absolutely blown away by the passion and commitment of the Oncer fans. I am so honored to have been a central part of such a special show.”
“I will be forever grateful to Adam, Eddy, and ABC for giving me the gift of playing Emma Swan.
As I move on to other creative endeavors, I will continue to attend the fan conventions whenever my professional schedule allows. I always look forward meeting the fans.”
“If ABC Network does in fact order a season 7, I have agreed to appear in one episode, and I will most certainly continue to watch ONCE UPON A TIME. The creativity of the show runners has always inspired me, and I cannot wait to see the ways that they continue to develop and reinvent the show.”
ONCE UPON A TIME airs Sundays at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.

ONCE UPON A TIME: 5 Things You Need To Know About the Musical Episode
The most anticipated event in the history of ONCE UPON A TIME is finally upon us. Emma Swan and Captain Hook are getting married and no Black Fairy or curse are going to get in the way of our favorite OTP’s happy ending. The TV Addict has already watched the iconic episode and we have a lot to talk about, Oncers!
I’ll be the first to admit that when I first heard they were doing a musical, I was completely, 100% against it. Musical episodes can only go two ways – they are either absolutely fantastic or absolutely dreadful. The problem with ONCE UPON A TIME tackling such an epic event was that they decided to do a musical in the same episode that the most beloved ship on the show is getting married.
It had everything to go wrong. Everything.
But you know what? It worked. It really, really worked. I felt like I was watching a Disney live action super production and it absolutely paid off. The songs are great and super catchy and the cast sounds pretty good. And the best part is, it’s not a standalone – it ties in to the storyline really nicely and ends on a jaw dropping cliffhanger.
So, without further ado, let’s dive into the five things you need to know about “The Song in Your Heart”.
- One of the things that I was absolutely scared of was that we had no idea if the cast of ONCE UPON A TIME could even sing. With the exception of Colin O’Donoghue, who was once part of a band, no one had a musical background as far as I knew. But they actually have really nice singing voices. We won’t count Colin because we already knew he could sing, but everyone in the cast is pretty good. The songs played to their strengths and – of course – some were better than others, but everything worked out. Special shout out to Josh Dallas, who has an incredible voice. Where have you been hiding those pipes, Mr. Dallas? You should share that voice of yours with the world more often.
- Every character has a solo, with the exception of Rumple, Belle and Henry.
- Regina’s solo is badass and definitely fits the Evil Queen perfectly. I really, really enjoyed her performance and it looked like Lana Parrilla was having a blast. There is one scene, however, that is very reminiscent of a riff off – Pitch Perfect style – between the Evil Queen and the Charmings. I thought it was awesome and absolutely hilarious.
- Emma’s solo is incredible. Jennifer Morrison’s performance is so raw and real and emotional. You’ll love it. It’s fantastic!
- And last, but definitely not least, the wedding does happen, Captain Swan shippers, and it’s absolutely amazing. It’ll make you cry and smile so big, especially with the final song. It’s so Disney and so sweet and I just loved the whole thing.
Check out two sneak peeks below. ONCE UPON A TIME airs tonight (May 7) at 8/7c on ABC.
13 REASONS WHY Renewed for Season 2
13 REASONS WHY has officially been renewed for a second season on Netflix. Season 2 will consist of 13 hour long episodes and “picks up in the aftermath of Hannah Baker’s death and the start of the characters’ complicated journeys toward healing and recovery”.
Season 1 ended with several cliffhanger. Hannah’s parents finally learned the reasons that led to their daughter’s suicide, Bryce’s rapes against both Hannah and Jessica had been exposed among the group of friends (leading to questions about whether the police could become involved), and Alex was shot in the head — although it’s unclear if he tried to take his own life as well. Presumably season 2 would help to answer the questions that remained, although it’s unclear the role that Hannah (and her actress) would play in the season.
13 REASONS WHY will return for its second season in 2018.
