Netflix Releases New Trailers for BRIGHT and DEATH NOTE at Comic-Con

Two Netflix original films — BRIGHT and DEATH NOTE — held panels today at San Diego Comic-Con and the streaming service has released two new trailers for the films.

BRIGHT, which stars Will Smith and Joel Edgerton, takes place in alternate present-day universe where humans, orcs, fairies and elves have always co-existed. Ward (Smith) is a human cop, while Jakoby (Edgerton) is an orc police officer. The two go on a routine nightly patrol which comes to alter the future of their world. The film also stars Noomi Rapace, Lucy Fry, Edgar Ramirez, Ike Barinholtz, Enrique Murciano, Jay Hernandez, Andrea Navedo, Veronica Ngo, Alex Meraz, Margaret Cho, Brad William Henke, Dawn Olivieri, and Kenneth Choi. BRIGHT will premiere on Netflix on December 22.

DEATH NOTE is based based on the famous Japanese manga written by Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata, in which a high school student comes across a supernatural notebook. He realizes that it holds within it a great power; if the owner inscribes someone’s name into it while picturing their face, he or she will die. Intoxicated with his new godlike abilities, the young man begins to kill those he deems unworthy of life. DEATH NOTE comes to Netflix on August 25.
