Good News: The cast of HOME IMPROVEMENT, including a now 30-year-old Jonathan Taylor Thomas, recently reunited for an Entertainment Weekly photo shoot. Bad News: Nothing makes us feel old like a 30-year old JTT. [Source]

Good News: ALIAS’ Jennifer Garner is returning to ABC. Bad News: As a producer of a half-hour comedy based on the book “The Geeks Shall Inherit the Earth.” [Source]

Good News: Evidently, co-creator Ryan Murphy wasn’t kidding when he promised that GLEE’s third season would see a refocus on the show’s original core characters. Bad News: For actress Ashley Fink, whose 15 minutes have just about run out. [Source]

Good News: Kristen Bell is finally returning to series television after signing onto Showtime’s dark comedy pilot HOUSE OF LIES opposite Don Cheadle. Bad News: But not before sullying her once untarnished name in a string of box office bombs which include You Again, Couples Retreat, When in Rome, and… [shudder]… Burlesque. [Source]

Good News: The highly controversial too-hot-for-History-Channel TV miniseries THE KENNEDYS has found a new home. Bad News: On ReelzChannel, a network we not only didn’t realize existed until today, but one we’re fairly certain is not included in our current cable package. [Source]

Good News: In anticipation of Sunday’s post-Super Bowl extravaganza, Entertainment Weekly has obtained GLEE’s “boobalicious” opening number featuring a group of scantily clad Cheerios rocking out to Katy Perry’s “California Gurls.” Bad News: Nothing will ever compare to the unforgettable way in which Jennifer Garner kicked off ALIAS’ post-Super Bowl episode in 2003. [Source]

Showrunner of the Week: Regardless of where your Winchester loyalty lies, this TV Addict thinks showrunner Eric Kripke deserves some serious kudos for poking the beast… err… we mean the SUPERNATURAL fandom and speaking out on an issue he felt needed clarification. It’s official, Dean is not a “Dick.”

Showrunner of the Week (Runner-Up): Call me an obsessed dog owner (which by the way, guilty as charged, see Mac), but this week’s Showrunner of the Week (Runner-Up) is Shonda Rhimes, for doing what she does best. Taking another tried and true television cliché, which in PRIVATE PRACTICE’s case revolved around your standard troubled teen and parlaying it into an interesting story complete with a surprisingly emotional ending.

Reminder You’re Getting Old of the Week: Following last week’s flashback to Sarah’s (Yvonne Strahovski) High School days on CHUCK which featured some ‘classic’ tracks courtesy of Paula Cole, Hanson and Chumbawamba, it’s official. This TV Addict is starting to feel really old. Begging the question, what’s next, a Backstreet Boys Reunion Tour? Oh wait…

Mystery of the Week: Why SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE continues to allow an unfunny ‘character’ from Kenan Thompson to zap the momentum of Weekend Update every single week.

Conflicted Casting of the Week: While it is always great to see ALIAS alum Carl Lumbly (Marcus Dixon) on the small screen, was a GREY’S ANATOMY patient-of-the-week seriously the best his agent could come up with? Somebody get this man a series, and stat!

Career Killer of the Week: After managing to do the impossible — make an UGLY BETTY Marc and Amanda story look tedious — could Lindsay Lohan’s career be anymore over?

theTVaddict.com Comment of the Week: In Response to theTVaddict.com’s question as to whether or not you’ll be checking out HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL 3, reader DAVID ID had this to say, “Not even if Vanessa Hudgens went naked on the internet to promote her career and make a DVD film series launch into theaters… oh wait.”

While some may argue that the series premiere of FRINGE raised some fairly large questions for fans to waste valuable bandwidth debating — Questions like why exactly was Walter Bishop institutionalized in the first place? Just how evil is Massive Dynamics? And how on earth is Mark Valley’s Agent John Scott alive? This TV Addict thought he’d take this opportunity to bring up the one question guaranteed to bring down the internet.*

Now that you’ve had a chance to meet Agent Olivia Dunham, where does actress Anna Torv stand in the pantheon of J.J. Abram’s girls? In response, this TV Addict thought he’d share this video of J.J. Abrams, in a post I’d like to call WHY WE WATCH.

In the most entertaining twenty minutes you’ll experience all day, J.J. Abrams traces his love of the unseen mystery — the heart of ALIAS, LOST, and the just released CLOVERFIELD — back to its own magical beginnings, which may or may not include an early obsession with magic, the love of a supportive grandfather, or his own unopened Mystery Box.

Now, I know what you’re thinking. Could J.J. Abrams be any cooler? Turns out he can. Click here to check out this incredible story courtesy of Aintitcoolnews.
