What’s Coming to CraveTV in September 2016?

legends of tomorrow

The 2016 version of the miniseries ROOTS is coming to CraveTV in September 2016, as is season 1 of LEGENDS OF TOMORROW. In addition, new episodes of THE CIRCUS: INSIDE THE GREATEST POLITICAL SHOW ON EARTH will be streaming weekly beginning in mid-September.

Friday, September 2

ROOTS – (Historic TV/Dramas)
Spanning multiple generations, the lineage begins with young Kunta Kinte (Malachi Kirby, DOCTOR WHO), who is captured in his homeland of The Gambia and transported in brutal conditions to colonial America, where he’s sold into slavery. Throughout the series, Kinte’s family continues to face adversity while bearing witness and contributing to notable events in U.S. history, including the Revolutionary and Civil Wars, slave uprisings, and eventual emancipation.

THE BIG BANG THEORY– Season 5 (Comedies/Sitcoms)
In Season 5, Penny (Kaley Cuoco) regrets sleeping with Raj (Kunal Naayyar) and becomes very good friends with Leonard (Johnny Galecki). In the meantime, Leonard breaks up with Priya (Aarti Mann), and Amy (Mayim Bialik) pushes Sheldon (Jim Parsons) in their relationship, to eventually become boyfriend and girlfriend. Penny and the other women become a clique of their own, and Howard (Simon Helberg) prepares for his wedding and trip to space.

KINGDOM – Season 2 (Dramas)
In Season 2 of KINGDOM the fighters at Navy St. MMA gym continue to battle obstacles both in and out of the ring as Ryan “The Destroyer” Wheeler (Matt Lauria, FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS) defends his title, and Jay (Jonathan Tucker, PARENTHOOD) finds a new obsession.

WEEDS – Seasons 6 – 8 (Dramas/Comedies/The Showtime Collection)
The comedy series from SHOWTIME, starring Mary-Louise Parker (THE BLACKLIST), Elizabeth Perkins (HOW TO GET AWAY WITH MURDER), and Kevin Nealon (COMEDY BANG! BANG!), exposes the dirty little secrets that lie behind the pristine lawns and shiny closed doors of homes in the fictional town of Agrestic, California. The series follows Nancy Botwin (Parker), a suburban mom who resorts to selling weed to support her family after her husband unexpectedly dies. Viewers can now stream WEEDS in its entirety exclusively on Crave.

BLUE BLOODS – Seasons 5 – 6 (Crime & Mystery/Dramas)
Starring Donnie Wahlberg, Will Estes, Lean Cariou, Tom Selleck, and Amy Carlson, BLUE BLOODS follows the lives of the multi-generational Reagan family and their dedication to the New York City Police Department.

An HBO film, HEMINGWAY & GELLHORN centres on the romance between Ernest Hemingway and WWII correspondent Martha Gellhorn. Gellhorn was Hemingway’s inspiration for Whom the Bell Tolls, and the only woman who ever asked for a divorce from the writer. Starring Clive Owen and Nicole Kidman, HEMINGWAY & GELLHORN was directed by Philip Kaufman.

This film features classic Elton John tracks performed either with his band, with percussionist Ray Cooper, or solo. The multimedia staging is extraordinary, with vast screens behind the stage illustrating the songs. The piano itself acts as a screen for graphics and animations. The stage show was directed by legendary photographer David LaChapelle

GRIMM – Season 5 (Sci-Fi & Fantasy/Dramas)
Homicide detective Nick Burkhardt’s (Rick Burkhardt) life turns upside down when he discovers that he is a descendant of an elite group of hunters, known as “Grimms,” who fight to keep the world safe from supernatural creatures.

The family’s beloved grandfather (George Segal) is responsible for wild antics, which create more chaos.

ARROW – Season 4 (Dramas/Superheroes/Action & Adventure)
After being gone for five years, during which he suffered unimaginable ordeals, billionaire Oliver Queen returned home to Starling City with a mysterious agenda and a set of new skills that he uses in a war on crime in this hard-hitting action series. Reinventing the DC Comics character for a modern-day audience, the Arrow is every bit as formidable as the criminals he’s hunting.

THE FLASH – Season 2 (Dramas/ Superheroes/Action & Adventure)
Until recently, 25-year-old Barry Allen lived a normal life as a perpetually tardy forensic scientist in the Central City Police department. Barry is deeply in love with his best friend, Iris West, daughter of Barry’s surrogate father, Detective Joe West, who adopted Barry 14 years ago after Barry’s mother was murdered and his father, Henry Allen, received a life sentence for the crime – though Barry maintains that a mysterious “Man in Yellow” was responsible. With the help of his new scientist friends at S.T.A.R Labs, Caitlin Snow, Cisco Ramon and Dr. Harrison Wells, Barry begins a journey as The Flash to protect the people of Central City from these powerful new threats.

DC’S LEGENDS OF TOMORROW – Season 1 (Dramas/Sci-Fi & Fantasy/Superheroes/Action & Adventure)
Time-traveling rogue Rip Hunter (Arthur Darvill, DOCTOR WHO) is tasked with assembling a disparate group of both heroes and villains to confront an unstoppable threat – one in which not only is the planet at stake, but all of time itself. Featuring ARROW’s Brandon Routh as The Atom and Caity Lotz as the resurrected Sara Lance/White Canary; with THE FLASH’s Victor Garber as Dr. Martin Stein alongside Wentworth Miller as Captain Cold and Dominic Purcell as Heat Wave; plus, the newest heroes Rip Hunter, Jeff Jackson (Franz Drameh, Edge of Tomorrow), and the reincarnated warrior queen Hawkgirl (Ciara Renee, Pippin), this singular super hero spinoff series pits the ragtag team against an immortal threat that remains one of the most powerful villains in the DC Comics universe.

KILLJOYS – Season 1 – *PREMIERE* (Dramas/Sci-Fi & Fantasy)
In a distant Galaxy, the people of the planet Qresh have colonized their three moons, creating four stratified worlds, each defined along socio-economic lines and rife with social unrest. In this planetary unit, known as the Quad, a highly regulated group of bounty hunters, Killjoys, are licensed to pursue a vast range of warrants throughout the galaxy. Killjoys must follow strict rules, and there are harsh consequences for veering from their mantra: “The Warrant is All”. Killjoys are not allowed to take a personal or political side in their mission, which proves to be impossible and near fatal for Dutch, a gorgeous, complicated, and deadly Killjoy at the top of her game. Her partner, John the Bastard, is a peacemaker who hates conflict.

THE COMEBACK – Season 1 & 2 – *PREMIERE* (Comedies/Sitcoms/HBO)
THE COMEBACK follows Valerie Cherish (Lisa Kudrow, FRIENDS), fading TV “It Girl” and pioneer of reality television who was once so desperate to stay in the spotlight that she allowed cameras to follow her every move as she appeared on a new sitcom, with disastrous results. New episodes follow Valerie as she continues her search to attain the spotlight, which illuminates a whole new series of problems when she achieves the visibility she wants. Also stars Malin Ackerman (BILLIONS).

As one of the funniest and freshest faces on television and film, Amy Schumer is dominating the world of comedy today with her unique blend of honesty and an unapologetic sense of humour. Schumer’s provocative and hilariously wicked mind is on full display with headlined her first HBO stand-up comedy special: AMY SCHUMER: LIVE AT THE APOLLO. Directed by Chris Rock, the special was taped live before a sold-out crowd at the legendary Apollo Theater in New York City.
