This time it really is personal. Or at least that was the distinct impression your very own TV Addict was left with following a one-on-one with PRIVATE PRACTICE star Caterina Scorsone who recently took the time to tease tonight’s very special episode of PRIVATE PRACTICE that has the gang from Oceanside Wellness confronting her character, Amelia Shepherd, about the drug addiction that is destroying her life. But why personal you ask? Well, as it turns out, the Canadian-born actress has a unique connection to the world of drug addiction and mental health thanks to her father who runs an organization (The Good Neighbour’s Club) that serves as a homeless shelter for retirement-aged people suffering from addiction and mental health issues. Add to that what Scorsone herself characterizes as an incredibly misunderstood disease and you have fodder for what will surely go down as one of the most emotionally-charged episodes of the series thus far. See for yourself what Scorsone had to say on the matter after the jump.

Did you have any idea after your initial guest spot on GREY’S ANATOMY that the character of Amelia, Derek Shepherd’s brother would turn into what it has?
Caterina Scorsone: I suspected when I did my first episode of GREY’S ANATOMY but let me get the chronology straight: I came on to PRIVATE PRACTICE as a recurring character for the final five episodes of season three and then it was the next season where I was told that I’d be a regular character and was going to cross back over the GREY’S ANATOMY. So that actually happened at the same time, but I didn’t know that I was going to get a chance to explore this huge juicy storyline and that’s been really exciting.

What was your reaction to learning that your character was going to get this huge storyline surrounding drug addiction akin to last season when KaDee Strickland found herself portraying a rape victim?
I didn’t know how far they were going to take this storyline and how big it was going to get. Shonda [PRIVATE PRACTICE creator Shonda Rhimes] wrote this episode of television herself in one sit down, she’s really got this incredible magic touch with scripts and I think she was passionate about the storyline and passionate about the subject matter just as she was last year with Charlotte’s sexual assault episode “Did You Hear What Happened to Charlotte King?” And I’m so grateful that I get to be apart of it because I think it’s so important and addiction is so misunderstood. As an actor it’s very exciting.

When it comes to a “Very Special Episode” like tonights, how much more time do you put in terms of preparation versus a regular episode of the show?
A lot more than usual because the whole episode breaks from the regular format of the show. Usually we have several storylines that are interconnected but independent going on at the same time so you come in, memorize your lines, do your work and go home. Where as in this episode every single cast member was in every single scene so we all clocked many more hours than usual. In terms of Amelia, she had a lot of emotional highs and lows, dialogue, it was a challenge but it was so satisfying creatively, it really felt like a workout. In terms of research I felt like it was such an important and delicate subject that hit home for so many people that I really wanted to be responsible to it so I did a ton of research, as I have been all season long. I knew from the beginning that Amelia was an addict and have always kept that in mind. An addict has a particular brain chemistry, particular proclivity, the way they function in the world. So all along I’ve tried to keep in mind that Amelia has the personality of someone who struggles with addiction for many years. I also consulted with people who are addiction counsellors and had been addicts in the past and I would go through every script and anytime I had some sort of a question about a specific manifestation, mannerism or psychological motivation I would really take the time to talk to people who had first hand experience with because it’s not something that you want to make a caricature of.

What can you tease about the second half of tonight’s two-parter?
Amelia will make a decision at the end of that first hour to go to rehab and ultimately I think that’s very important because they’re doing an intervention but ultimately only the addict can decide they’re ready to recover. The second hour isn’t like the first hour in the sense that there are more plots going on but Amelia is in rehab and we kind of go through that journey with her. And what’s nice about it is that it’s gradual. I think every act is another 10 days so we don’t speed through the rehab and suddenly, miraculously she’s fine. Recovering from addiction takes a long time and I think they were responsible in trying to write it in a way that we’re seeing that it doesn’t happen overnight.

Will Amelia’s recovery be something she will struggle with throughout the rest of the season?
It’s something that she’ll struggle with for the rest of her life. Addiction is a life long disease in the same manner in which diabetes is a disease. You constantly have to take care of yourself and she’s going to have to constantly make sure she’s in meetings and that she’s not isolating herself. She has an addictive personality and she has to be monitoring that at all times. It will be addressed for several episodes, but not having shot too much since tonight’s two-parter, i don’t even know where it’s going to go.

With Monday’s episode of CASTLE entitled “Kill Shot,” I’m only slightly concerned that one of my favorite members of the NYPD will find themselves on the wrong end of a sniper’s sight. Any chance I might trouble you to alleviate my worries? — Kelly
The TV Addict: Considering we would hate to be the one to spoil the fun, not to mention the intense pulse-pounding excitement that you’ll undoubtedly experience while watching a city in chaos when a sniper goes on a terrifying killing spree, there is absolutely zero chance that we will alleviate your fear! That said, what we will only be too happy to do is fill you in on a little secret: The insanity surrounding Monday’s fantastic episode of CASTLE won’t be for naught, particularly for those of you who have been patiently waiting for a certain member of the NYPD to see the light.

Anything you can tease for this CASTLE crazed fan with regards to Monday’s episode? — Madison
The TV Addict: While Beckett’s increased moments of post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) will most definitely take center stage in an episode that has “For Your Emmy Consideration” written all over it in terms of Stana Katic’s stellar performance, fans of both Alexis (Molly Quinn) and Esposito (Jon Huertas) will be pleased to discover that the talented twosome play an integral role in the hunt for the killer.

Love me some Mark Pellegrino. Any chance we’ll be seeing more of him on THE CLOSER? — Alison
The TV Addict: According to CLOSER producer James Duff, who we recently had the pleasure of interviewing, the in-demand actor will be appearing as the deliciously scene-stealing Gavin in at least two of the upcoming episodes starting November 28th. What’s more, you’re not the only one who loves them some Pellegrino, as Duff let it slip that they are feverishly working to find the time between the actor’s 423 (approx.) other projects to bring him back next summer as well!

Holy HOMELAND Batman! After last week’s doozy of an episode I’m emailing to implore you for some scoop. — Brandon
The TV Addict: Assuming of course you’re still reeling from last week’s episode that revealed that Brody’s (Damian Lewis) presumed-dead partner Tom Walker wasn’t just alive, but in fact the American Soldier who Carrie (Claire Danes) was convinced had been turned. Well, that jaw-dropper has got nothing on the final scene that awaits fans during this Sunday’s game-changer of an episode.

My love of HART OF DIXE knows no bounds. Scoop please! — Ashley
The TV Addict: As it turns out, even beautiful Bluebell Alabama isn’t immune to political scandal. Which is to say that you probably shouldn’t expect Mayor Lavon Hayes’ secret tryst with Lemon Breeland to stay a secret for long. Oh, and while we’re on the subject of Little Miss Prim and Proper, expect to see her — courtesy of a wee bit too much alcohol — loosen up a little bit when Wade enlists his former high school chum (Who knew?) to help him get out of a sticky situation.

Is there anything you can share about HAVEN’s upcoming holiday episode? — Janet
The TV Addict: Hmmm . . . without giving too much away, let’s just say that Christmas has come to HAVEN at the wrong time of year. Worse still, somebody has got a very different idea as to which townspeople have been naughty and which have been nice.

Any word on just how emotional tonight’s two-hour PRIVATE PRACTICE expects to be? — Miranda
The TV Addict: While it probably won’t come as much of a surprise that fans of the A&E reality skein INTERVENTION will get a serious kick out of tonight’s Amelia-centric episode that has the gang from Oceanside Medical hold their very own in the hopes of getting Amelia some help, what sure might is the heartbreaking final scene of the episodes first hour that will serve as the impetus for getting her butt into rehab.

Is there any hope for Nikita and Michael in their fight against Division? These poor people fighting the good fight can’t seem to catch a break. — Jennifer
The TV Addict: If you’re hoping for Nikita and Michael to catch a break anytime soon, don’t hold your breath. In fact, according to our sources, things for “Mikita” are about to get a lot worse before they get any better. Particularly when their financier/technical guru/third wheel Birkhoff gets kidnapped by Division in an aggressive attempt to capture Nikita.

Will there be any love connections in my new favorite western series HELL ON WHEELS? — Richard
The TV Addict: Love is hard to find when women are hard to come by in the wild, wild west. Luckily for fans of AMC’s anything but hellish Western, an unexpected hook-up will occur in Sunday’s episode.

As much as I love me some DEXTER I’ve been slightly unimpressed with the pairing of Edward James Olmos and Colin Hanks this season. Any chance their storyline gets interesting before their inevitable demise? — Mikey
The TV Addict: While promos for Sunday’s episode indicates that things are about to get veryinteresting for Olmos and Hanks’ characters, the far more surprising twist — at least in our humble opinion — is what happens where Deb is concerned both in terms of Laguerta’s continued meddling and a realization about her relationship with her brother which may not be nearly as solid as she once thought it to be.

Pleased don’t judge me but I’m still watching ONE TREE HILL. Any chance you can reward my loyalty with some scoop on Dan Scott’s return? — Brianna
The TV Addict: Judge, who us? Surely you jest! After-all, despite threatening to drop the show on more than one occasion, we’re still watching DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES. Which is why we’re going to acquiesce to your request for scoop and fill you in on a little secret: Dan Scott may have actually turned over a new leaf, or at least that’s what sources are telling us with regards to early episodes of the season that see Scott transform himself into somewhat of a slightly older and more out of shape version of the Caped Crusader, protecting his family from drug dealers and other slightly-less-than-upstanding Tree Hill citizens.

Any word on how the rejiggered FINDER is shaping up? — Madison
The TV Addict: Have you heard the one about the orphan who walks into a bar? Rest assured, you will! Because it’s not the start of a really bad joke, but rather the title of THE FINDER’s first episode back (“An Orphan Walks into a Bar”). Oh, and on the off chance you’re wondering as to just why an orphan walks into a bar, well, he has a job for the titular finder Walter Sherman (Geoff Stults)… one that, surprise, surprise, involves the hiring of Sherman to investigate just why he’s an orphan.

Is Leslie Knope really going to leave her post in the Pawnee Government to run for office on PARKS AND RECREATION? — Christopher
The TV Addict: While sources close to Ms. Knope have been uncharacteristically tight-lipped with regards to her intentions to declare her candidacy, we do know that — in a brilliant attempt to boost ratings — the PARKS AND RECREATION writers will be taking a page from any one of Primetime’s countless police procedurals. Which is to say, expect early episodes of the season to be “ripped from the headlines” as Leslie not only finds herself embroiled in a birth certificate-related scandal as she prepares herself for the possibility of running for office, a handful of Pawnee’s male staffers will be lectured on what is and is not appropriate text etiquette (Think: Weiner-Gate)

So excited to see Heylia James return at the end of last week’s episode of WEEDS! Does the show have any more surprises up its sleeve? — Rob
The TV Addict: Indeed there are. Suffice it to say, Heylia isn’t the only familiar face you’ll see on upcoming episodes of WEEDS as creator Jenji Kohan brings yet another familiar face back into the fold.

Any chance you can offer up a glimmer of hope for this PARENTHOOD fan, specifically on the Jasmine and Crosby front? — Raquel
The TV Addict: Hope, there’s always hope. We for one are still holding out hope for a VERONICA MARS movie and for the WB’s short-lived albeit brilliant-but-cancelled series JACK & BOBBY to get a DVD release. But enough about our hopes and dreams, on to yours. Will Jasmine and Crosby reconcile? We’re going to go out on a limb and say yes. Of course, this being PARENTHOOD — the show where nothing is ever as simple as it sounds — it’s going to be a long and windy road to happily ever after. Particularly after a communication break down in an early season 3 episode on behalf of Crosby sees Max and Jabbar end up in the Principal’s office. Da… Da… Duh…

Any idea as to who Oceanside Wellness will replace Naomi with on PRIVATE PRACTICE? — Jill
The TV Addict: No, although we do know that interviews for Naomi’s replacement will take place in the second episode of PRIVATE PRACTICE’s fifth season. What’s more, they won’t go well.

Getting slightly frustrated with the lack of answers on FALLING SKIES, any chance the show will remedy this during Sunday’s episode? — Michael
The TV Addict: Short Answer: Yes. In Sunday’s can’t miss episode fans will learn a pivotal detail about why the aliens invaded earth. That’s the good news. Unfortunately the bad news is that the aforementioned intel uncovered by Dr. Glass (Moon Bloodgood) will have some horrifying repercussions for the community and more specifically, those poor harnessed kids. Double… Da… Da… Duh…

Is there any hope for Addison and Sam on PRIVATE PRACTICE? — Lesley
The TV Addict: Oh, there’s always hope,! Unfortunately Addison and Sam’s not-so-direct-flight to “happily-ever-after-ville” will be hitting some serious turbulence this May 15th at 10PM thanks to the arrival of a mysterious admirer [Benjamin Bratt] who offers Addison an offer she can’t, but probably should, refuse.

Any word on how DESEPERATE HOUSEWIVES plans to end the season? — Jenn
The TV Addict: In typical Wisteria Lane fashion, DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES will be kicking off May Sweeps with a bang. Or to be more specific, an arrest of one on your favorite Wisteria wives. What’s more, Sunday’s episode which we recently had the opportunity to screen will also include the arrival of a prowler on the lane and some serious marital strife for one of the show’s most stable couples.

Will fans of BROTHERS & SISTERS be content with the upcoming season/series finale? — Madison
The TV Addict: Assuming you’re armed with an ample supply of Kleenex, by all accounts, the May 8 finale appropriately titled “Walker Down the Aisle” that sees Luc and Sarah exchange their “I Do’s” will leave loyal fans sufficiently satisfied should it end up being BROTHERS & SISTERS’s swan song.

On a recent episode of THE MIDDLE I couldn’t help but notice a hint at a romance brewing between Sue and the eldest Glossner boy. Am I crazy? — Amber
The TV Addict: Not in the least! In fact, we recently had the chance to pose that precise question to Sue’s portrayer Eden Sher, who had this to say on the matter, “If they told me anything I would be the first to divulge any and all information to you, so I have no idea what they have planned in season 3. That would be amazing though, I have strong feelings for Sue as a real life person and I feel like she needs some sort of crush action going on… well reciprocated crush action.”

Despite the fact millions of Americans who tune into CBS’ procedural heavy lineup each and every week, you all but ignore them. What do you have to say for yourself? — Bill
The TV Addict: Not much! Except that we hope to make it up to you with the barrage of teases courtesy of a just released CBS press release touting a whole slew of CBS season finales. Ready? 3… 2… 1… GO! On Sunday May 8 CSI: MIAMI will end their season by leaving two CSI’s in life-threatening peril. On Thursday May 12, CSI: ORIGINAL RECIPE will end the season with Langston being drawn into a final showdown with serial killer Nate Haskell. On Friday May 13th Mac will survive a near death experience. BLUE BLOODS will end its freshman year on May 13th with Tom Sellick taking matters into his own hands to avenge his son Joe’s death. On May 16th McGarrett will come face to face with his arch nemesis Wo Fat. On Tuesday May 17th the lives of the NCIS team are jeopardized when they confront the infamous Port-to-Port killer followed by NCIS: LOS ANGELES which will see Callen and the NCIS team investigate Hetty’s disappearance. Got that?

Any guesses as to whose funeral the cast of GLEE will be attending? — Francie
The TV Addict: Rumor has it funeral has something to do with the death of coherent storytelling! Just kidding. Actually, according to star Matthew Morrison it’s an actual person. “Somebody’s dying. Obviously I’m not going to tell you who it is, but it is no-one you would probably expect. The episode right before the finale is called ‘Funeral’. We were actually recently at a funeral home shooting all day. It was a very taxing day.”

According to reports the season finale of HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER has Ted meeting his future wife. What are the odds we’ll meet her? — Mark
The TV Addict: Put it this way, if Ted actually comes face-to-face with the titular mother in the upcoming sixth season finale it will be the best kept secret since the ending to LOST. Seriously, we find it hard to believe that creators Carter Bays and Craig Thomas could cast such a pivotal role without any of the media getting wind of it. That said, to give you an idea as to just how pivotal the May 12 finale is in terms of “Mother” mythology, you probably should know that Rajit (Marshall Manesh) is signed on to appear… along with Chi McBride (Rod), Dave Foley (Mr. Bloom), Bob Odenkirk (Arthur), Jennifef Morrison (Zoey), and Nazanin Boniadi (Nora).

With so many season finales coming up, is there one in particularly you’re looking forward to most? — Amy
The TV Addict: WOW, where to begin. While we’re certainly curious as to how high the body count will be on what promises to be a bloody THE VAMPIRE DIARIES season ender, and of course if BONES creator Hart Hanson will live up to the episode title that is “The Change in the Game,” we’ve recently come across something so outlandish, so unbelievable, and so borderline offensive that we can’t wait to see how it plays out. That something: Margaret Cho guesting on the 30 ROCK season finale as Kim Jon-Il!

Wondering why Cooper looks somewhat less than happy on what should surely be one of the happiest day of his life? Well, if we had to guess, it probably has a little something to do with the fact that both himself and Charlotte find themselves second-guessing their wedding plans as a result of the uncertainty and turmoil surrounding the future of Oceanside Wellness. At least that’s our theory, but hey, why not check out some first look photos of the upcoming May 5 episode of PRIVATE PRACTICE entitled “Something Old, Something New” and see what you can come up with.
Your recent streak of DEGRASSI scoop has been nothing short of astounding. Care to keep the streak alive? — Mandy
The TV Addict: Despite the fact that we would very much prefer you characterize our recent streak of DEGRASSI scoop as “remarkable” rather than “astounding,” we are more than happy to oblige. If only to put to rest one of the big concerns we’ve been hearing from a handful of DEGRASSI fans since we broke the news about cast additions for the upcoming eleventh season. Rest assured, said additions will in no way take away screen time from the current cast you’ve come to know and love. So much so that upcoming eleventh season episodes will have one student of the male persuasion tackle the taboo that is shoplifting, another who is no stranger to trouble finding herself confronted with cocaine, while a third fan favorite is forced to deal with the baggage that comes when two squabbling parents fail to handle their divorce as maturely as one might hope.

Any PRIVATE PRACTICE scoop? — Jennifer
Not-so-fun-fact: Fans have not seen the last of Charlotte’s harrowing rape storyline, which will return to the forefront in the upcoming PRIVATE PRACTICE season finale when Charlotte is forced to re-live her terrifying ordeal in an effort to help treat another survivor.

With the summer season just around the corner, watch-cha got for us WAREHOUSE 13 fans? — Brian
The TV Addict: While it probably won’t come as much of a surprise to fans that last season’s finale that saw Myka exit from her job at the Warehouse won’t be permanent (well, duh!), what might come as a surprise is what happens next. When WAREHOUSE 13 returns this summer for its highly anticipated third season, Myka will be forced to re-team with a former co-worker at the Denver Secret Service to track down the prime suspect in the death of her partner and lover, Sam Martino. Meanwhile, on a lighter note, freshly minted agent Steve (Aaron Ashmore) will work with Claudia when they experience their own close encounter forcing them to rely on a canine friend as their only eye-witness.

Any NIKITA news? — Jeff
The TV Addict: The upcoming season finale of NIKITA (Note to the CW, we said season, not series finale) will find our titular heroine caught between a rock and a hard place when Percy overplays is hand. Turns out, blackmailing key members of the CIA in an attempt to become acting CIA director may not have been one of his best ideas! Particularly when three of the aforementioned key members of the oversight committee that created Division kidnap Alex and instruct Nikita to kill Percy.

Earlier in the month Michael Ausiello hinted to the fact that something bad will go down between Amber and her Prom date on PARENTHOOD, care to elaborate? — Gill
The TV Addict: Not really. Except to say that what goes down between Amber and her date at prom is just the beginning of a really tough time for Amber that may-or-may-not end up with the entire Braverman clan taking a trip to the Emergency Room.

HELLCATS’ interminable has been well hell, anything to help us fans pass the time? — Shaindy
The TV Addict: Expect major hurdles for those cheerleaders when an infectious disease threatens their eligibility for Nationals. Oh, and did we mention that not helping the situation will be the unexpected arrival of Marti’s long lost not-so-daddy-dearest who has a not so cheery history of alcohol and drug abuse.

Klaus! Klaus! Klaus! When are we finally going to meet the big VAMPIRE DIARIES baddies that we’ve heard so much about? — Bailey
The TV Addict: After almost a season of hype, Klaus will finally arrive on the April 21st episode appropriately titled, “Klaus.” Of course, like everything on THE VAMPIRE DIARIES, there is a slight catch. Said mysterious baddie will first be revealed via flashback when a trip back in time to 1941 reveals Katherine’s introduction to Elijah and Klaus, along with the origin of the moonstone curse.

I can’t handle the uncertainty dammit! Will there or won’t there be a wedding on GREY’S ANATOMY by the end of the season? — Ally
The TV Addict: Well as usual, this is another one of our favourite good news bad news type of situations. Which is to say, there will be a wedding, but it will probably will not be under the circumstances that fans are expecting.

I’m absolutely loving “TV Showrunner Madness”, but find myself disappointed by the number of favourites — including BREAKING BAD’s Vince Gilligan and THE WIRE’s David Simon — that were regretfully left warming the bench. What’s the deal? — Dillon
The TV Addict: The deal is that TV Showrunner Madness — as evidence by the fact that we kicked off the competition during the final week of March — was a very last minute idea that popped into our head. Rest assured, next March, expect the field of 32 to be expanded to include all of your favourites because let’s face it, we know a good idea when we accidentally stumble on one!

Is there a reason you never seem to talk about PSYCH on this website? — Rayna
The TV Addict: There is a very good reason we never talk about PSYCH on this website and it goes a little something like this: We don’t get USA Network on our cable package! That said, we do get inside intel, which is why we hope to make up for our lack of PSYCH scoop with the hilarious title to an upcoming sixth season episode, “Shawn Rescues Darth Vader.”

Any word on how my homeboy Vinnie Chase has been doing since he got arrested in last season’s ENTOURAGE finale? — Mike
The TV Addict: Not too good actually. Vincent Chase has spent his hiatus holed up in Promises Rehab Center in Malibu. But before you start to worry that the eight and final season of ENTOURAGE will play out like an episode of Dr. Drew’s CELEBRITY REHAB, don’t! When ENTOURAGE does return, it will kick off with Vince being released from rehab, where the big question everyone in Hollywood will be asking is whether or not the once young promising star has what it takes to put his life [and career] back on track. Our money’s on yes, how about you?

Well that about wraps it up folks for this edition of “Ask the Addict.” if you’ve got a question for the TV Addict, you can email me directly at info@thetvaddict.com or follow me on twitter @thetvaddict. Political intrigue, family drama and the return of Cary! Yes, Tuesday’s season finale of THE GOOD WIFE had all the makings of a fantastic season ender. Until of course the overzealous publicity department at CBS inexplicably felt the need to completely spoil the ending by releasing what turned out to be a virtual shot-for-shot slideshow of the season’s not-so-shocking final moment (See above photo). Talk about your not-so-good-ending to a great season.

PRIVATE PRACTICE
Despite Michael Ausiello’s assertion that PRIVATE PRACTICE would feature “what I’m 100 percent certain may be one of the most shocking deaths in any of this season’s finales,” there was very little shocking about Del’s death. Particularly thanks to Chris Lowell’s uncharacteristically vocal stance with regards to his unhappiness when it came to his character’s trajectory and the fact that he had already packed his abs… err… bags for New York City.

BROTHERS & SISTERS
Just in case you weren’t already aware of Rob Lowe’s impending exit from BROTHERS & SISTERS, ABC’s promos leading up to the finale pretty much spelled it out for you.

CHUCK
If imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, somewhere in Hollywood J.J. Abrams has a big grin on his face following Monday’s CHUCK finale which to be blunt, any ALIAS fan saw coming a mile away. Note to showrunners Josh Schwartz and Chris Fedak, if you’re wondering how you can make it up to us, please consider casting one of the following actresses as Chuck’s mysterious mother: Lena Olin, Mary McDonnell, Lynda Carter, Alberta Watson, Mimi Rogers and/or Sela Ward.

LOST
While we’re not going to pretend that we had the slightest notion of just how Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse were planning on ending their six year odyssey (Vincent FTW!), of this we were sure: Days later, we’d still be scratching our head!

The TV Addict: Although probably not done intentionally, 90210′s May 18 season finale will go out with a nod to original series star Emily Valentine when things really start to heat up on Liam’s boat after a certain somebody who-shall-not-be-named discovers that Annie and Liam are a little too dedicated to practicing “safe boating” (Think: Mouth-to-mouth resuscitation!)

Who is getting married on the BONES season finale? — Michael
The TV Addict: Considering the May 20 season finale will include an unexpected visit from Angela’s father, we’re going to go out on the first of many limbs today and guess that Angela and Hodgins will be the ones walking down the aisle. Thoughts?

Now I love my BATTLESTAR GALACTICA alums as much as the next fan, but not when they’re coming between Castle and Beckett! Any hope for a hopeless romantic? — Madison
The TV Addict: Don’t shoot the messenger, but sticking with today’s theme of mouth-to-mouth will be Demming (Michael Trucco) and Beckett as evidence from this spoiler pic (below) we’ve just obtained from the May 10th episodes of CASTLE that has Becket inviting Demming to assist on a robbery-homicide giving Castle a front row to their budding romance. Awkward.

Will Chuck and Blair end the season in a happy place? I’m worried for them. — Stacey
The TV Addict: We’re not so worried about Blair — who will have until the credits role on GOSSIP GIRL’s May 17 season finale to decide whether or not to meet Chuck at the top of the Empire State Building — as much as we’re worried for all of Manhattan. Which will soon face the wrath of a very vengeful Georgina Sparks (Michelle Trachtenberg) who returns to the Upper East Side… with a vengeance.

Any clues as to who the rumored death in the SUPERNATURAL season finale is? — Dave
The TV Addict: According to our mole at the CW (“Mole” being code for “press release”) May’s season finale has a beloved character facing death. Of course the operative word here is “facing.” In other words, don’t be so quick to assume that just because a beloved character is facing death, a beloved character will actually die! Especially on a show as sparsely populated as SUPERNATURAL whose ensemble is pretty much comprised of only Sam, Dean, Castiel and the occasional guest appearance by Bobby. Having said that, the penultimate episode of the season does feature Bobby selling his soul to help stop the Apocalypse, which in hindsight may not have been the best idea.

Do you know who is getting engaged on PRIVATE PRACTICE? — Jessica
The TV Addict: Considering Violet has had one helluva dark and twisty season courtesy of last May’s gruesome season ender, we’re going to go out on a limb (again) say that creator Shonda Rhimes will finally give Violet and Pete something to smile about. Cue photographic evidence that may-or-may-not be intentionally misleading.

What network do you think the American version of TORCHWOOD should look towards now that Fox has dropped out?” — @News_on_Shuffle
The TV Addict: Although an obvious choice would be Syfy, we can’t help but wonder if an Americanized version of TORCHWOOD is really necessary. Call us crazy, but why not let the BBC concentrate on what they do best and leave American networks to focus on… wait for it… original ideas instead of cheap foreign knock offs. Certainly seemed to have worked for GLEE.

Any news on how Peter is going to deal with finally learning the truth about his origins on FRINGE? — Adam
The TV Addict: Two words: Road Trip! On May 6th the show will employ that classic TV Trope of sending our hero off on a journey to find himself. Of course this being FRINGE, said road trip won’t exactly be a walk in the park, or in the case of the episodes title, a walk in the “Northwest Passage.” As along the way, Peter will encounter Sheriff Anna Mathis (Special guest star Martha Plimpton) and a disturbing case that may shed some much needed light on the mysterious Newton, not to mention Peter’s equally mysterious past.

I know I’m the only person who watches it, but nonetheless I would love some scoop on my favorite show, THE MIDDLE. — Mindy
The TV Addict: Firstly, you are not the only person who watches this show, as we happen to be huge fans of the Hecks. And secondly, we hope you’re sitting down and are situated in an area free of spill-able beverages, because in a shocking turn of events, tshirt-phobic eldest son Axl will actually… for the first time ever… have a genuinely good reason to not wear a shirt when he decides to clean the family pool in order to entice the girls to to stop by for a swim, in their bikinis.

Any news about LIFE UNEXPECTED? Should fans be hopeful for its future? — @natthedem
The TV Addict: Alas I do not have any news on LIFE UNEXPECTED and honestly don’t expect to hear anything until the CW announces their Fall lineup on Thursday May 20th in New York City. That said, we remain hopeful that the CW will do the right thing and renew this little gem of a show for at the very least 13 episodes next season. Stay tuned. We certainly will be.

He still believes in Addison and Pete.
“This is the deal: Every great TV romance in success plays out over a really long period of time,” said Tim Daly when asked by the TV Addict on a recent one-on-one if there is any hope at all for the coupling that was so clearly telegraphed at the start of the series. “If Pete and Addison had been in some kind of relationship in the first or even the second season, it may have foreshortened something so delicious to let unfold as the series continues. I still think there is room for that spark between Pete and Addison to combust, but how and when that comes to be is a subject for debate.”

Enjoys the lighter moments of PRIVATE PRACTICE.
In spite of the show finding its footing placing babies in peril week-in-and-week-out, Daly, who got his start with 172 episodes of the hit NBC sitcom WINGS enjoys the lighthearted moments at Oceanside Wellness the best. “I really enjoy when we get a chance to do something funny, particularly the funny camaraderie between the guys,” explained Daly. “Obviously we’ve got a lot of sick babies on this show, I mean my God we’re doing our best to reduce the population on the planet by scaring woman all over the world from having babies! That said, I do try to find humour whenever I can.”

Calls Pete and Violet was his idea!
Okay, so perhaps not entirely his idea, but Daly is quick to point out that the relationship between Pete and Violet that resulted in an unexpected baby did stem from his fantastic working relationship with co-star Amy Brenneman. Elaborated Daly, “Violet and Pete was not something that was planned from the beginning. It was something that happened because [Amy] Brenneman and I worked well together and the writers thought, ‘Hmmm… this is interesting, let’s explore that.’ That being said, the character of Pete has given Violet a tremendous amount of leeway to go through her emotional difficulties and I don’t know how far he’ll continue to bend.”

Sex, Lies and… Tim Daly.
Tim Daly’s career could have taken a very different career path had it not been for the untimely end to the 1988 Writer’s Strike. “I was actually cast is Steven Soderbergh’s first film Sex, Lies and Videotape. But when the Writer’s Strike ended, I couldn’t get out of my obligation to a pilot [David Chase's first show],” said the actor. “Long story short, at the time my agent was like, ‘Steven Soderbergh, some guy with a stupid little movie that may never see the light of day!’ Until a few months later when it won the Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival and I was heartbroken! Who knows what my career path might have been.”

Staunch supporter in the Arts.
Did you know that entertainment is the second largest export in our country? Tim Daly certainly does, and as part of the Creative Coalition has taken it upon himself to make sure you too know about the importance of arts in North America. “We view Arts as some kind of luxury item, some extra thing that’s not really necessary and that couldn’t be further from the truth,” explained Daly, a passionate advocate for the arts. “We’re approaching a one-third high school drop out rate in the United States and kids that study a rigorous curriculum in the arts are three times more likely to graduate from high school. Art is part of our lives, anywhere you look, be it your pants, your wall, the floor, all of it has been designed by artists. It’s my mission to get people to start people talking about the arts in the same way they start talking about manufacturing automobiles or growing crops.
