If for no other reason than to remind you that — despite tonight’s second Presidential debate — RAISING HOPE is airing a new episode on FOX at 8PM (CityTV in Canada), theTVaddict.com proudly presents some Snappy Answers to Silly Questions with series star Lucas Neff.

Last May’s finale that saw Jimmy’s baby momma Lucy attempt to do in Sabrina Dexter Morgan style was one of the funniest and craziest things I’ve ever seen a comedy attempt to pull off.
Lucas Neff: [Laughs] This is accurate and I’m not refuting any of it. Greg [RAISING HOPE creator Greg Garcia] likes to take chances [Editor's Note: No Pun intended!] and kind of has a dark sense of humor sometimes [Editor's Note: Sometimes?]. One of the things that’s great about him is that he’s ready to go places that maybe not everybody would be willing to go as a sitcom creator.

Do you really think we’ve seen the last of Lucy.
I’m in a cloud of unknowingness! Sh*t man, I don’t know if she’s dead, let’s be real, this is television and anyone can come back. I mean how many Halloweens have they made? How many “Jasons” are there? She could be clawing her way out of a storm drain right now.

Wouldn’t it be great if she came back every season finale, but with fewer and fewer appendages?
Yes! By the end of season six she’s just a real funny torso! [Editor's Note: We're all for RAISING HOPE: THE ZOMBIE SEASON if it helps improve the show's ratings!]

On a happier note, it would appear that Jimmy and Sabrina have taken some fairly momentous steps forward lately, anything fun you can tease?
Without spoiling anything, I think we have some real interesting turns in the road for Jimmy and Sabrina this season and I’ll be excited to see what people think. I was really happy they got together last year and it will be fun to see what kind of mess they can get into a couple this season.

How do you think Sabrina is going to deal with being somewhat of a surrogate mother to baby Hope?
She seems to be more sane and grounded than the Chance family…

… Although she does have a bit of a crazy side to her.
Come to think of it, you’re right. She’s a lunatic and can’t be trusted!

Well, she voluntarily works out a grocery store and rejects her father’s money.
She’s all out of whack, but this family’s slightly out of whack so maybe she’ll fit right in. It will be interesting because now that the babies [who play Hope] are turning into humans, they talk. They do everything humans do except work. Wait, they actually do work, they pay taxes, they just don’t vote! [Editor's Note: You can follow Baylie & Rylie on Twitter!]

Putting on your writer’s cap for a moment, is there anything you’d like to see Jimmy experience this season?
I don’t know. I’d love to meet more famous comedians that I’ve admired for years, but I guess that’s sort of a Lucas Neff actor thing and not a Jimmy Chance thing. So just funny stuff I suppose. I’d like to get funny things to do, that’s also a Lucas Neff thing I guess. But for Jimmy I hope things go terribly wrong, I think that will be better for the show.

It’s strange that as a fan of the show I’m rooting for the Hope family to do well, yet a family doing well doesn’t usually make for good television.
No, if things work out we don’t have a show. Look at ROSEANNE. Anytime a family does well, it’s the death of comedy. So hopefully, we’ll keep our fingers crossed that real spectacularly tragic things befall the Chances this year.

This year is your third season on the show, is it still as exciting as when you started?
More so! I get to relax and have more fun every year, every episode, I keep learning stuff. It helps that I really like my castmates and this job pays me more than it should. Actually, strike that, I want Fox to pay more money, they don’t need to think that I’m over compensated. Seriously, this is a great job and I sure as heck don’t want to go back to my old one.

Which was?
Menial labor, busboy, doorman, I cleaned a house the week before I auditioned for RAISING HOPE. Scrubbed a couple of toilets. I really don’t want to go back to that!

In reference to your recent tweet about GLEE’s fourth season premiere, I’m hoping you might elaborate on why you think it’s the show’s strongest episode since its premiere? — Linda
The TV Addict: Where do I begin? Working my way backwards, the final scene of tonight’s season premiere that features two characters immensley integral to the show’s success sent the type of chills down my spine usually reserved for when something on the small screen really hits home. What’s more, the episode doesn’t rely so much on a gimmick, theme, or artist from which to generate story but rather by placing the proper emphasis on real characters and their relatable journeys. Which is to say, I found myself rooting or Rachel Berry for the first time in an awfully long time, I was genuinely curious about the plight of new editions Marley (Melissa Benoist) and Jake (Jacob Artist).

This longtime Gleek is somewhat concerned that all these new characters will be stealing to spotlight from the original cast of characters we’ve come to know and love. Thoughts? — Dylan
The TV Addict: While fans of Puck and Quinn most definitely have cause for concern, seeing as though it would appear that both of their characters have been effectively replaced by a half-brother Jake (Jacob Artist) and doppelgänger Kitty (Becca Tobin’s) respectively, Artie, Tina, Brittany and Kurt fans have absoposilutely nothing to worry about. Not only do Brittany and Artie get some of the episodes most memorable one-liners, Tina totally nails her musical number in her bid to become, as the episode title suggests, “the new Rachel.” While Kurt and his father share a scene that pretty much secure’s Burt Hummel’s entrance into the father of the year hall of fame.

Any intel on how Reese, Carter and Fusco plan on rescuing Finch when PERSON OF INTEREST returns for its second season? — James
The TV Addict: Actually we don’t, because much to our surprise, the reunion of one of our favorite small screen bromances doesn’t technically happen in the show’s first episode back. That said, what does happen totally makes up for the lack of closure to last season’s shocking cliffhanger. Particularly if you’re a fan of the “machine” mythology and its literal father of invention Harold Finch.

Having recently jumped on the PERSON OF INTEREST bandwagon this summer, I am hoping you can provide me with a little second season scoop. Is Amy Acker’s Root making an appearance in the September 27th premiere? — Ernesto
The TV Addict: While you’ll be happy to hear that Amy Acker’s Root is back in a big way, you more than likely won’t be thrilled with what she wants with Finch. And while we’re not about to spoil it here, we will let you in on a little secret: Root may be just a wee bit off her rocker. Read into that what you will!

Based on Tuesday’s fantastic PARENTHOOD season opener it would appear that Drew’s relationship is headed the way of Amy Poehler and Will Arnett. Care to confirm or deny? — Riley
The TV Addict: Putting aside for a moment that I have yet to come to grips with Amy and Will’s separation, I can in fact confirm that Drew and Amy will hit a serious speed bump in the form of an older College boy named Jake.

Dying to discover who is Quinn on SCANDAL! — Miranda
The TV Addict: Well then, you’re probably not going to want to miss SCANDAL’s scintillating second season premiere on September 27th which we – having already had the pleasure of screening the episode — can assure you reveals Quinn’s real name within the first seven minutes. Unfortunately, in typical Shonda Rhimes’ fashion, Quinn’s identity is just the beginning of a far bigger mystery that will change the way you look at these gladiators in suits forever.

The title of RAISING HOPE’s first episode back is “Not Indecent, But Not Quite Decent Enough Proposal.” Does it mean what I think it does? — Billy
The TV Addict: If you think we’re going to either confirm or deny that Jimmy and Sabrina are getting hitched you sure as heck don’t know how this column works! What we will do is fill fans in on three very important facts with regards to RAISING HOPE’s third season premiere. (1) Not surprisingly, it’s fantastic. (2) Somewhat surprisingly, special guest star Melanie Griffith knocks it out of the park as Sabrina’s mom. And (3) A seriously surprising secret about Jimmy’s past comes to light that may-or-may-not threaten his relationship with Sabrina forever.

Beyond things that go bump in the night, what else is going on in HAVEN this season. Any romance? — Jennifer
The TV Addict: This just in: “Troubles” aren’t the only thing in the air when it comes to the sleepy town of Haven. This being television and all, love is also in the air in the form of not just one, but two romances on the horizon. One involves new cast member Kate Kelton’s character Jordan, and the other is one so surprising we’ve been sworn to secrecy!

Forget Castle and Beckett, this Esposito/Ryan fan would love to know where their relationship stands when the show returns for its fifth season? — Brandon
The TV Addict: Like that of any actor’s career after signing onto a Hallmark Hall of Fame movie, Esposito and Ryan’s relationship is on shaky ground. Make that very shaky ground. But just how unhappy is Esposito with Ryan following last May’s season finale? Well, let’s just say that the only words exchanged between the talented twosome involve the names “Benedict” and “Arnold!”

I was shocked when GENERAL HOSPITAL’s Duke suddenly showed up after all these years. For one thing, I thought he was dead… and had a different face. But he hasn’t been seen again since that first day. Will he be returning? — Kayla
The TV Addict: According to our pals at Soaps In Depth magazine, the truth about Duke will begin to unfold in early October. Look for the character to return to the canvas and immediately have a pretty big impact. After all, he’s the presumed-dead husband of Port Charles top cop Anna, who recently got hot and heavy with Luke. But the bigger questions revolve around Duke’s supposed death. Ian Buchanan (ex-Ian, DAYS OF OUR LIVES) created the role of Duke back in 1986. But after he departed in 1989, Greg Beecroft took over the role and it was revealed
that Duke had undergone extensive plastic surgery. By 1990, NuDuke had been killed… or so it seemed until Buchanan’s Duke appeared unexpectedly a few weeks back! One thing’s certain: When Duke returns in October, he’s gonna have a whole lot of explaining to do!
