My Fellow Gleeks, Don’t worry, be happy.

Despite reports to the contrary, your favorite GLEE stars aren’t going anywhere. Wait, check that… that may not be entirely accurate. You favorite GLEE stars are going somewhere, they just won’t be going very far. And while we’re the first to admit that we’re completely devoid of any-and-all credible sources to actually back this up, that isn’t about to stop us from going to go on a limb and predicting that come Fall 2012, Chris Colfer, Lea Michele and Cory Monteith will be headlining their very own GLEE spin-off. (Think: GLEE: NEW YORK, GLEE: NEW DIRECTIONS or GLEE: SPECIAL SPIN-OFF UNIT)

Now, we know what you’re thinking: Just what makes us so sure that Rachel Berry, Kurt Hummell and Finn Hudson will soon be hightailing it to the Big Apple? Simple. TV Networks and Studios that risk hundreds of millions of dollars every year aren’t in the business of casually letting their cash cows slip away, especially for a reason as insignificant as “true to life storytelling.” Heck, one needn’t look further than what Warner Bros. Television and CBS put up with to keep Charlie Sheen happy and on the air. Suffice it to say, billion dollar generators such as TWO AND A HALF MEN, FRIENDS, and GLEE are few and far between, so when a Network and Studio miraculously manages to latch onto one, you can bet your bottom dollar that they will be holding on to it for as long as humanely possible.

What’s more, a GLEE spin-off would be music to the bean counters at Fox’s ears. Not only would GLEE: THE SEARCH FOR MORE MONEY (Yup, we’re still working on that title!) allow for Fox to finally develop their own franchise akin to NBC’s LAW & ORDER and/or CBS’ CSI, jettisoning the big three that are Colfer, Michele and Monteith will help to keep the budget down as the series heads into a pivotal and costly period of renegotiation that will surely see big bumps in salary for its original cast members like Jane Lynch and Matthew Morrison.

Agree, disagree, post away.

Despite the fact that it’s called show business and not show friends for a reason, there is nothing that leaves a sour taste in our mouth more than actors talking about money. Take the Hollywood Reporter’s recent Comedy Actor Emmy Roundtable for example. Did anyone really need to hear how Ed O’Neil and Rob Lowe were aghast over HBO’s insulting offer of a paltry $40,000 for what we’re sure were six long and arduous weeks of work alongside Al Pacino and Bette Middler? We sure as heck didn’t.

Rob Lowe
If the artist formerly known as Sam Seaborn is serious about taking his career to the next level he so richly believes he deserves, announcements like yesterday’s news that has Lowe signing on to play suspected wife killer Drew Peterson in an Lifetime Movie probably isn’t the best way to go about it. Oh sure, Lowe can dress up the movie all he wants (Telling EW.com, “These movies aren’t made anymore, and in the last five years, they’re not made on television either — except in very specific places. One of ‘em is Lifetime, and they do it really, really well. So I’m glad they’re makin’ stuff like this, on Lifetime.”), but the fact of the matter is that despite Lifetime’s fairly admirable job of reversing their “Mother, Mother May I Sleep with Danger” brand with high quality shows like DROP DEAD DIVA and ARMY WIVES, at the end of the day, a movie of the week is a movie of the week. A tawdry sex fuelled, scandal filled one that quite frankly, Lowe of all people should not be encouraging. We’re just sayin.

USA, TNT, ABC Family and DirecTV
So what exactly is our beef with four of the biggest reasons TV Addicts have — outside of HBO and Showtime — for not cutting our cable this summer? Simply put, we don’t get them. Which means no WHITE COLLAR, COVERT AFFAIRS, FALLING SKIES, SUITS, NINE LIVES OF CHLOE KING and DAMAGES among others. In other words: #FML

GAME OF THRONES Haters
Question: What’s the only thing more shocking than Sunday’s insanely unexpected ending to GAME OF THRONES penultimate episode of the season? Answer: Fans complaining about it! Seriously. Rather than crying fowl, fans should be applauding, cheering, and encouraging one of the few times Hollywood actually had the — for lack of a better word — cojones to stick to a creator’s original vision. No matter how bloody shocking it may be.

Stars Negotiation Through the Media
Memo to any media outlet and/or journalist that just ran — or is about to run — a story in which [Insert ridiculously overpaid star here] is hemming and hawing about whether or not to return to [insert aging series here] that made them a household name: You’re being played courtesy of a time honored tradition known as “negotiating through the media.” So unless you’ve thrown in the towel, along with your journalistic integrity and ethics for a percentage of the salary bump Jennifer Lopez’s is sure to see when she inevitably signs onto another season of AMERICAN IDOL, <a href="http://www.tvguide.com/News/Jennifer-Lopez-Idol-1034235.aspx" target="newwindow'>stop writing stuff like this now.

Despite a list of nominees almost completely foreign to this TV Addict, who is embarrassed to admit how long it has actually been since we hit up the Big Apple, last night’s Tony Awards served as a blueprint for television’s seemingly never-ending parade of kudofests. But how did they pull it off? Well, as a public service to those of us who are still smarting from the five-or-so hours we’ll never get back as a result of last February’s Anna Hathaway/James Franco hosted Oscar telecast, we’ve compiled 5 lessons every Award show can (and should) learn from the 65th Annual Tonys Awards telecast.

Hire the Host with the Most
Between his pitch perfect opening number (“Broadway! It’s not just for gays [and jews] any more”) to his closing rap recap that rolled over the credits, second-time Tony host Neil Patrick Harris didn’t just steal the show, he set a new bar for Award show hosting. Jane Lynch, it’s your move.

Know Your Audience
Unlike Oscar producers Dan Jinks & Bruce Cohen, who made the fatal mistake of attempting to cater to a younger demographic by hiring two untested and unproven “Movie Stars” to host Hollywood’s biggest night, the producers responsible for the Tony telecast played to their strengths. Complete with the ideal mix of splashy musical numbers, quieter moments honoring Broadway’s history (Vanessa Redgrave and James Earl Jones FTW!), and Hugh Jackman, there was quite literally something for everyone.

Don’t Take Yourself Too Seriously
Whether it was presenter Robin Williams looking out into the audience and quipping “What an incredible room here tonight! The only beard here is on my face,” Bono and the Edge humbly apologizing for their much-delayed Broadway musical Spider-Man: Turn Of the Dark, or Chris Rock’s hilarious riff prior to handing out the final award of the night, “Had told me that I would miss the best basketball game ever to hang out with Nathan Lane,” the Tonys — unlike some other award shows which seem to be under the mistaken impression that their profession is akin to say, curing cancer — gets it. Adding up to a show that perfectly balanced the reverence the Tony’s deserve, while still managing to cram as many Spider-Man: Turn Of the Dark jokes into a thirty second time period.

Keep it Moving
With the notable exception of Ellen Barkin’s acceptance speech for her much deserved Tony win for her work in The Normal Heart, an acceptance speech which by the way we’re fairly certain as of this posting is still going on, last night’s three hour telecast felt like two thanks in no small part to the plethora of — with apologies to all the hardworking and talented behind-the-scenes artisans — less interesting awards that were handed out off screen.

Splashy Musical Numbers
And finally, it sure as heck doesn’t hurt to pepper any telecast with dancing Daniel Radcliffe, raining men and a hosting duel between Neil Patrick Harris and Hugh Jackman. We’re just sayin’

You don’t get a lot of second chances in this life. Opportunities to rectify a major mistake that you’ve been kicking yourself ever since making. Well, despite the fact that a shameful number of you have neglected to listen to people who know better — yes, we’re talking about ourselves! — the good folks over at AMC are giving viewers a chance to catch up on the best show of the season, THE KILLING.

Correction. They’re not just giving you a chance, they’re basically doing everything in their power short of coming to your individual homes, strapping you to a chair and saying, “People! This is good! Try it, you’ll like it!”

For those not in the know, THE KILLING is an atmospheric mystery centered around one question: Who killed Rosie Larsen? But beyond that, this is genre-defying television. Sure, you could just play armchair detective and try to solve the central crime, but don’t be surprised when you find yourself slipping into psychiatrist mode as you analyze the incredibly complex relationships of the deeply-flawed cast of characters. Or you can just dive into the soapy goodness that is the sexual chemistry between leads Joel Kinnaman and Mireille Enos. How about political intrigue that, were it occurring in real life, would knock Anthony Weiner’s sexting right off the front page?

No matter what you want, THE KILLING delivers.

So right about now, you’re probably thinking, “Geez, I really should be watching this… but it’s, like, 11 episodes in, and I’d never be able to catch up.”

Wrong!

In an effort to get more eyeballs to their critically acclaimed but viewer-shy drama, AMC has posted the first 11 episodes on-line, meaning that if you start right now, you can catch every minute — including last Sunday night’s much-discussed format-breaking, Emmy-worthy hour — before this week’s airs.

Opportunities like this don’t come around every day. In fact, we’re so convinced that you need to take advantage of this chance that if you come back tomorrow, we’ll give you five reasons that you should — no, strike that… must! — be watching when the most buzzed about question since “Who killed Laura Palmer?” is finally answered!

So just why is a TV Addict such as ourselves encouraging you to eschew your small screen for the big one this summer? Well, in a nutshell, it’s where all the TV stars have gone. So much so that rather than take the time to single out each and every one of your favorites that will soon be unspooling at your local multiplex (In 3-D!), we’ll simply list off a few that we’re really, really excited about. Including, Bridesmaids (Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph, Ellie Kemper, Melissa McCarthy, Rose Byrne, Jon Hamm), Horrible Bosses, (Jason Batemen. Jennifer Aniston Jason Sudeikis), The Change-Up (Jason Bateman, Olivia Wilde). Crazy, Stupid, Love (Steve Carell), SUPER 8 (Kyle Chandler), COWBOYS & ALIENS (Olivia Wilde) and GREEN LANTERN (Blake Lively).

Podcasts
Did you know that before he married COUGAR TOWN star Christa Miller, showrunner extraordinaire Bill Lawrence was married to RULES OF ENGAGEMENT’s Megyn Price? Or how about the fact that 70′s SHOW Topher Grace’s real name is actually Christopher? We do! And for that we have Podcasts to thank. What’s more, courtesy of an ever-expanding roster of talented interviewers, actors and comedians such as Adam Carolla, Marc Maron, Kevin Pollak and Chris Hardwick, among others, never before have we had such unprecedented access to an abundance of talent in a long-form and in-depth manner that the four minute daytime/late night talk show no longer affords.

Books
Contrary to what the title of this website might suggest, TV isn’t our only addiction. We’re also a little too into the source of many of the CW’s pilot ideas, you know, books. Suffice it to say, be it of the paper or digital variety, we can’t seem to get enough of them. From lighter fare such as Tina Fey’s Bossypants and Adam Carolla’s In Fifty Years We’ll All Be Chicks, to more salacious and scandalous subject matter like the oral history of ESPN <a href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0047Y177U/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&tag=thetvaddict-20&linkCode=as2&camp=217153&creative=399701&creativeASIN=B0047Y177U" target="newwindow>(“Those Guys Have All the Fun) and Rob Lowe’s Stories I Only Tell My Friends, the printed word has never been so fun[ny].

DVDs
What’s that you say? You simply can’t fathom a summer completely devoid of the small screen, but not enough to shell out for premium channels such as HBO or Showtime? Lucky for you, we’ve got three letters for you DVD. On our bucket list this summer are BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER, SIX FEET UNDER, BREAKING BAD and IT’S ALWAYS SUNNY IN PHILADELPHIA. What’s on yours?

Summer Cleaning
Admit it. As much as you tried your absolute best to polish off all of your favorite shows before some <strike>douchebag</strike> over-eager Twitter follower completely spoiled what was supposed to be CASTLE’s “killer” ending (Yes, you know who you are!), odds are fairly good that your DVR/PVR remains dangerously close to full. Which raises the slightly awkward albeit painfully obvious question: With an exciting slew of cable premieres just around the corner, what the heck are you doing sitting here reading this? Get watching!

Elizabeth Mitchell
Previous Experience: V, LOST
Special Skills:: Aside from being an absolutely fearless actor who is capable of elevating virtually anything a writers throws at her (Seriously, did you see her recent guest spot on LAW & ORDER: SVU?), Mitchell is a tireless team player. To the point that she took the time to attend V’s panel at San Francisco’s WonderCon despite the fact that the show so clearly had one foot in the grave.
Game For: Absolutely anything. Although if we had our druthers, we’d love to see Mitchell headline a WEEDS-esque cable drama that would allow her to show off both her dramatic and comedic chops.

Ron Rifkin
Previous Experience: BROTHERS & SISTERS, ALIAS
Special Skills:: Duplicity. Whether he’s lying to a fresh-faced Sydney Bristow with regards to the real purpose of SD-6, or the entirety of the Walker family about their patriarch’s business interests (not to mention his own sexuality) Ron Rifkin’s been there, done that.
Game For: Again, anything. Of course, after five seasons of being criminally misused on BROTHERS & SISTERS, we for one would love to see Rifkin return to his electrifying ALIAS roots should say… NIKITA showrunner Craig Silverstein be on the lookout for a nemesis that is capable of giving Xander Berkeley’s Percy a run for his money. We’re just sayin’

Matt Long
Previous Experience: THE DEEP END, JACK & BOBBY, MAD MEN
Special Skills:: Aside from the fact that the genetically blessed actor inexplicably has yet to age since bursting onto the scene in the brilliant-but-canceled WB series JACK & BOBBY (Yup, still bitter), Long, thanks to a mix of midwestern Kentucky charm and piercing blue eyes, brings with him a demeanour that makes you want to root for him in virtually any role.
Game For: A television gig that lasts more than one season. And since there’s nothing we love more than playing couch potato casting director, the leading role in John Grisham’s reboot of THE FIRM would be the perfect fit. And not just because of the somewhat eery resemblance to Tom Cruise. Okay, maybe a little.

Judy Greer
Previous Experience: MAD LOVE, ARCHER, MISS GUIDED, ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT
Special Skills:: As anyone who has seen Greer can attest to, she has a major in scene stealing, with a minor in willingness to do anything for a laugh.
Game For: Any role that doesn’t pigeonhole her into the “best friend.” Seriously, after playing second fiddle to virtually every A-Lister under the sun (See: 13 Going on 30. Don’t See: 27 Dresses), Greer deserves better. Much better.

Bradley Whitford
Previous Experience: THE MENTALIST, THE GOOD GUYS, THE WEST WING
Special Skills:: Outside of his shocking turn on THE MENTALIST, Bradley Whitford can usually be found fighting (a) for little people, (b) the good fight.
Game For: Well, as THE GOOD GUYS so clearly illustrated, Bradley Whitford really is game for anything. Unfortunately, “anything” hasn’t quite worked out for the actor who has arguably had the least successful post-WEST WING career of any of his fellow White House staffers. Paging a role on Aaron Sorkin’s new cable-centric HBO series, line one.
