In the young adult series THE LYING GAME, Allie Gonino plays Laurel Mercer, the younger sister of Sutton Mercer – the girl who sets ‘The Lying Game’ in motion when she swaps places with her twin Emma, so that she can investigate their birth mother and the events that led to their adoption 16 years before. As Laurel, Allie not only gets to stretch her acting wings, but she also is able to express her passion for music. While Laurel is known for playing the violin, she was recently given the chance to shine in the spotlight in the ‘Pleased To Meet Me’ episode when asked to sing on stage at a benefit party. In a recent press call, Allie shared what she enjoys about playing Laurel and what’s next on the horizon of THE LYING GAME. [Read more…]

Megan Park Dishes On Her Fairytale New Role in A CINDERELLA STORY: ONCE UPON A SONG
Once upon a time there was a young teenage girl who wanted nothing more than to be a world famous pop singer – just one tiny problem, she could not sing. Not daunted by this small hiccup, Beverly Van Ravensway (Megan Park) came up with a creative solution: she would lip-sing her way to stardom. Alas, just like in any classic Cyrano de Bergerac story, this scheme is almost certain to backfire spectacularly. In a recent press conference call, the delightful Megan Park candidly shared some of her experiences in working in the fun film A CINDERELLA STORY: ONCE UPON A SONG as the musically-challenged Beverly Van Ravensway. Ask the Addict: Spoilers for BONES, HART OF DIXIE, SWITCHED AT BIRTH, ONCE UPON A TIME & More!
Thanks to your recent post pointing to a free download of the series premiere, I’m officially hooked on SMASH. Which begs the question as to whether or not you have any scoop as to which actress the producers are going to reward with the coveted title role in Marilyn the musical? — Amanda
The TV Addict: Despite the fact that this by no means indicates whose name — be it Megan Hilty’s Ivy or Katharine McPhee’s Karen — will actually appear on the marquee when the Broadway musical based on the life of Marilyn Monroe actually does premiere, we can assure you that the answer to your question will be known by SMASH’s second fantastic episode of the season.
Any scoop on the best show nobody’s watching, you know, PARENTHOOD? — Dave
The TV Addict: This just in, there is a downside to success. Especially when the much-deserved notoriety Adam and Crosby are earning for restoring the luncheonette into a state-of-the-art recording studio brings with it a life-changing offer that the twosome may-or-may-not be able to refuse.
As much as I’m enjoying Booth and Brennan’s storyline this season with regards to their about-to-be-born baby on BONES, I can’t help but feel that the producers have done a really poor job of dealing with Parker. Are there any plans to address how Booth’s oldest son is dealing with the new addition to the family?
The TV Addict: In short: Yes! Or to be more specific, when Booth and Brennan aren’t busy solving yet another gruesome murder in BONES upcoming tenth episode of the season, they will be busy debating how to deal with Parker, who begins to act out to the tune of lying and possibly stealing in response to their newest bundle of joy. We Shine the Spotlight on JANE BY DESIGN Stars Erica Dasher and Andie MacDowell
As noted our article “Hold on Tight, ABC Family’s New Series JANE BY DESIGN Will Steal Your Heart,” the new young adult series starring Erica Dasher is perhaps the most adorable show on television today. The show glows with warmth, charm and infectious humor. The trials and tribulations of a young teen who miraculously lands her dream job and then must find a way to keep it just swept us off our feet.
It is in no small part due to the great talents of Erica Dasher and her legendary co-star Andie MacDowell. Playing Jane Quimby and her fashion designer boss Gray Chandler Murray, Erica and Andie are a remarkable team. In their scenes together, one senses Jane and Gray’s mutual respect, affection and genuine desire to make their working relationship strong enough to withstand the devious maneuvering of their common foe, India Jourdain (India de Beauforte). It is a rare treat when so many television shows and films depict employees and their bosses as being at each others’ throats and tearing each other down. To see a healthier work relationship is intriguing and delightful.
To talk a bit about their new show and their characters, Erica and Andie answered questions via teleconference last week: [Read more…]

Midseason TV Preview: JUSTIFIED’s Third Season Offers Another Dance With the Devil
Returning for a third explosive season, FX’s razor-sharp series JUSTIFIED is back with more gunfights, brawls, and rampant crime in Harlan, Kentucky. Raylan Givens (Timothy Olyphant) may be a U.S. Marshal, but his life is cursed to be a crime-magnet. No matter what the situation or how many guns might be involved, Raylan walks straight in and astoundingly usually walks right back out. But in the second season finale, Raylan’s good luck ran out and he took a bullet in a shoot-out with Mags Bennett’s (Margo Martindale) crew. Also in that bloody finale, Raylan was not the only unlucky one as Ava Crowder (Joelle Carter) was shot point-blank by Mags’ son Dickie (Jeremy Davies), and Raylan’s aunt Helen (Linda Gehringer) was caught in the cross-fire as well. Crime is a bit incestuous with the Bennetts, Crowders, Givens and other clans looking to preserve their way of life — their god-given right to pursue the almighty dollar by any means necessary.
