THE ORIGINALS Recap: “Sanctuary”

Everyone, this week’s episode of THE ORIGINALS was epic!  It was the kind of epicness that sneaks up on you because all the knowledge and revelations that were dropped came out of nowhere.  I’m still reeling from this episode.  We meet Freya (who may be super crazy), were graced with more Rebekah, saw the Kalus we all love to hate again and Finn figured out about Hope!  Let’s dig in (and this week we’re going to take it storyline by storyline)! THE ORIGINALS Recap: “The Brothers That Care Forgot”

This episode of THE ORIGINALS started in the best way possible with a Rebekah and baby Hope sighting. We also got a great Hayley/Cami bonding moment, Mikaelson sibling drama and Davina be annoying to the nth degree.  Let’s dig in.

Rebekah and Hope are playing in a park when Rebekah notices a crow watching them.  And if that wasn’t creepy enough when she looked back a second time, she saw about 15 crows watching them.  At the same time, Elijah and Klaus are having a family meal with Finn and Kol (who are still in shackles) during which Klaus tries to convince them to join his side.  Finn isn’t very persuadable and tells his brothers that Esther is looking for Rebekah.  The threat to Rebekah and Hope is too much for Elijah and he takes a bite out Finn’s neck.  Rebekah calls Elijah to tell him that Esther has found her.  Klaus says to head west and Elijah will meet her. THE ORIGINALS Recap: “Alive and Kicking”

This season of THE ORIGINALS is starting off just great. Last’s night episode continued to build off the electric season opener. Not only were we gifted with flashbacks the included the real Kol but again THE ORIGINALS (or any show under the control of the My So-Called Company label) showed that it’s not afraid to deal with major plot points head first and quickly. This episode saw Klaus realize that his mother is inhabiting the body of the young witch that is creating moonlight rings for the werewolves and Elijah found out that Mikael is still alive! THE ORIGINALS Scoop: Chase Coleman Talks The Fun Of Playing A Werewolf Willing to Go to War With the Vampires

In a world run by vampires and witches, the one thing everyone tends to forget are the werewolves. In the CW series THE ORIGINALS, the one key ingredient has always been the power of the wolves. Yet Klaus (Joseph Morgan) himself is a hybrid werewolf/vampire and his baby mamma Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) is also a werewolf. It is so easy to get distracted by vampire drama and the witches plots, and the silly human rebellions against supernatural rule, but one should never forget about the werewolves. They are always there and waiting for their chance to strike.

In a recent exclusive interview, co-star Chase Coleman, who plays the werewolf Oliver, talked about what is starting to brew with the wolves and their pack, and how that leads to some complications with Hayley, who is trying to live amongst her kind and assume her role as one of its ranking members. Danielle Campbell the originals

From the beginning of the series, THE ORIGINALS was about a brewing conflict between the vampires and witches — and now the werewolves. But the one pivotal piece on the chess board turned out to be a young teen witch, who has been inadvertently bestowed with all the power of all the ancestor witches of New Orleans. All that power proved too much for one young witch, and subsequently lead to her death. But as fortune smiled upon her, Davina was resurrected and is yet again the most desirable piece in the supernatural war.

In an exclusive interview, star Danielle Campbell talked about Davina’s struggles and her motivations as she tries to fit into a world of witches, werewolves and vampires — each who would love to manipulate her and use her incredible power. [Read more…]
