Jumping on the Bandwagon

Generally I”m not a bandwagon TV Fan. In fact, I like to think I am at the start of most TV trends. Alias, West Wing, Sports Night, Lost, I was there from Day 1. Yet every once in a while a quality show (or two) fall through the cracks. After all, there is only so much space on my Fauxvo (PVR) and there are only so many hours in the day. Battlestar Galacitca and Grey’s Anatomy are two shows that got past me, but thanks to the magic of DVD (and the iTunes Music Store) I’m SO on the bandwagon!

Let’s start with my addiction to Grey’s Anatomy. At the time of this post, I have two more episodes to go, since amazon kindly sent my season 1 DVD’s to me on Tuesday. I am loving the show. Why didn’t I watch from day one you ask? Well in truth, I thought Meredith seemed a bit whiny, and the show’s opening was dreadful (way to soapy for me!) Yet Having watched almost the entire first season, I can honestly say I haven’t enjoyed a hospital drama this much since ER’s heyday.

Moving on the Battlestar Galactica. If you’re a frequenter reader of theTVaddict.com (and who isnt’?), you know I’ve been praising this show for weeks. This weekend I will hopefully accomplish my goal of catching myself up on the entire series so far. I have 6 more episodes to go, and if i stick to my goal, I can totally get through the end of season 2 (and my teacher’s said I don’t stick to goals!) Not since Star Trek DS9 have I been so obsessed with a sci-fi saga. And what a saga it is. Filled with politics, intrigue, war, death, terrorism, mythology and so much more. The show truly ROCKS and I can’t wait to catch the finale.

(If any TV executives are reading this, the iTunes music Store has gained you a new viewer. so how about getting Grey’s on the store so I Can watch season 2!)
