I know this isn’t themovieaddict.com (what a great idea for a name, I should start it right now!) but I wanted to take moment to plug a movie that is opening today. Why? because my brother is in it! TAKE THE LEAD starring Antonia Banderis (and my brother opens today.) It’s essentially the standard visibile minority youths overcome adversity and believe in themselves through ballroom dancing story – but with a twist! It’s based on a true story! Banderis plays real life great guy and incredible Ballroom dancer Pierre Dulaine. The other twist is that the movie is actually enjoyable! If you’re a fan of Mad Hot Ballroom, Shall we Dance, Dangerous Minds, Remember the Titans etc… you will enjoy this movie. Also, shout out to Degrassi fans, the movie also features Lauren Collins (aka Paige) in an excellent role.
By the way, bonus points for actually guessing which of the ‘troubled youths’ above is my brother! I’ll give you the answer tomorrow.
