This Week on TV

I don’t know about you guys, but I’m on pins and needles waiting for the new season to start! And just think! Just under a month until Prison Break and Vanished start on FOX on 8/21! Yay! Until then, we’ll have to keep enjoying the great summer shows. And you know there are many of them this year (The Closer, Rescue Me, Treasure Hunters, So You Think You Can Dance). There are some duds as well (Tuesday Night Book Club, How to Meet the Guy, Windfall), but overall, summer tv is becoming better and better every year. Here are my picks for this week!

Sunday starts off the week with a new episode of 2 of my favs, The 4400 & The Dead Zone. We see Kevin Burkhoff back on The 4400 and a wedding is planned. I don’t know if those have anything to do with one another, but it should be interesting to see Kevin’s new “promicin” look! Johnny questions his own reality after having multiple visions on The Dead Zone. If you like Crossing Jordan, there is a repeat of the commuter train bombing episode, which was one of my favorites! One of my favorite Veronica Mars episodes is repeating as well, where Veronica tries to locate the thief who stole the money for the senior class trip.

Monday is the last day of July and it goes out with a bang! A special on NBC is Star Tomorrow, which is a casting call for America’s best singers and bands. (America’s Got Talent, American Idol, Rock Star: Supernova anyone? *geez*!) Also new is Treasure Hunters (a friend admitted to me last week that it was getting better and better and may be ALMOST as good or better than The Amazing Race. I agree with him!). All I have to say is THANK GOD THE FOGAL FAMILY IS GONE! And how ironic was it that they got booted in a CHURCH? Hahaha Just cracked us up. Sad, but funny. 😉 Hell’s Kitchen is down to 4 chefs but can they handle the pressure? Probably not, which just makes it more fun to watch! lol My favorite, The Closer is new, along with Saved, Kyle XY, Falcon Beach and Tabloid Wars on Bravo. If you love House, check out Inside the Actors Studio on Bravo as well, as they are profiling & interviewing the big man himself, Hugh Laurie!

EUREKA! Tuesday marks the beginning of August. Leading off the night is Last Comic Standing, where 1 comic leaves and the final 3 perform. If you are in the mood for music, check out Rock Star: Supernova on CBS. You can also see Big Brother: All-Stars on CBS where a house guest wins the Power of Veto. Queer Eye is also new, along with Rescue Me and the best new show of the summer in my opinion, Eureka! In this week’s episode, Sheriff Carter accidentally shoots Henry! Oh my gosh! lol You can also catch 2 episodes EACH of House, Gilmore Girls & Veronica Mars if the others aren’t your thing. And don’t forget! Dead Like Me is on again tonight on SciFi!

On Wednesday, watch a 2 hour America’s Got Talent, watch the top 6 perform on So You Think You Can Dance and listen to some great (or not so great?) music on Rock Star: Supernova. On 30 Days, a man who lost his job to outsourcing travels to India. I may have to start watching this show. Sounds pretty interesting. heh Don’t forget to watch the new ep of Project Runway on Bravo as well! Also, one of my favorite episodes of Bones is on tonight. It’s the one where Brennan winds up the target of a shooting when she tries to meet her date at a local restaurant. You can almost cut the chemistry between Booth and Bones with a knife in this ep!

Thursday, you can get the results on America’s Got Talent, So You Think You Can Dance and Big Brother: All-Stars. Also catch a new ep of the failing Windfall, Who Wants to Be a Superhero? and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. The title for this ep is The Gang Runs for Office. Hmm, no info about the ep, but what political office could they be running for?? lol Catch a rerun of the Valentine’s Day episode of The Office if you missed it first time around, too!

What is there to say about Friday except for the best damn night of tv this week? On USA Network, you get Monk, titled Mr Monk, Private Eye and Psych, titled 9 Lives. On SciFi, you get new episodes of Stargate SG-1 and they have 2 Baals! (Does that sound as dirty to you as it does to me?? hehehe) Unfortunately they can’t tell the 2 apart, as their DNA matches. Which other SG members can give them the information about the real Baal that they need to make that determination? On the new ep of Stargate: Atlantis, McKay gets a strange visitor from another planet and the Wraith suddenly have a lead on where Ronon is! Uh oh. Bet the team is in trouble with this one!

Have a great week everybody and remember this quote from comedian & author Joey Adams, “If it weren’t for the fact that the TV set and the refrigerator are so far apart, some of us wouldn’t get any exercise at all.” So go out and enjoy the sunshine! You can still claim membership in the TV Addict club if you aren’t in front of the tube 16 hours a day! (Like me 😉 LOL)
