WEEDS Opens Big for Showtime

According to figures released from Nielsen Media, Showtime’s second-season premiere of WEEDS opened big, delivering a total of 578,000 viewers. That figure is up 18.5% from the first season premiere a year ago. Though not quite Tony Soprano numbers, WEEDS may actually be the show that bring Showtime out of HBO’s spotlight.

Unfortunately, being stranded up here in Canada, this TV addict has yet to see the premiere and will have to wait until Showcase airs the second season. As of yet, the release date isn’t on its web site, but rumour has it that the show will premiere on August 30 at 10pm.
