Jenny’s This Week on TV

Big news again in tv land this week, what with the shows that were given full season orders and the ones pulled from the schedule. And I’m pissed off that Kidnapped is gone. I didn’t get to watch ep 6 while it was on NBC.com and now ep 7 is up, so… Oh well. Guess I’ll stop watching. No point now. :-/ So let’s see what’s on this week that will likely get cancelled before we have a chance to get into it even more! *hrumph*

SUNDAY
On Sunday, watch The Amazing Race on CBS at 8/7c. A challenging Roadblock requires players to stay calm in a claustrophobic setting; one team jumps in front of another in the taxi line. So last week’s big deal about pairing the teams together wasn’t all that exciting. Here’s hoping this week keeps em hopping!

At 9/8c, stick around for Cold Case. The death of a postal carrier leads to the discovery of several bags of undelivered mail, one of which contains key evidence in a 1975 missing-persons case. Last week’s episode was really good, imo, with the brother admitting he was molested as a kid! Wow…

At 10/9c, stick around for Without a Trace, again on CBS. A woman (Susanna Thompson) takes Jack hostage while he is under cover at an illegal poker club; the woman, a dangerous acquaintance of a missing 20-something man, believes that Jack was hired to kill her. The previews showed Jack really getting worked over and beaten up. Hope he isn’t too hurt tonight!

MONDAY
I think Monday is going to be a comedy night for me. And there is no better way to start that off than How I Met Your Mother on CBS at 8/7c. Marshall & Lily head to Atlantic City to elope! I dunno if they will go through with it or not but should be fun to watch & see! Then at 8:30/7:30c, watch The Class. Ethan’s charade of posing as Dan hits a snag when he attends a birthday party at which his former classmates are in attendance; Richie reveals a secret. Haha I’m loving the posing as Dan storyline! Do you think his classmates will go along with the story?

Sticking around on NBC, at 9/8c, catch Alan & Charlie on Two and a Half Men. Alan takes Charlie’s suggestion of a jog on the beach to cure his insomnia; Jake pleads with Charlie not to date the mother of a girl he likes. The spoilers for this ep were great, so I can’t wait to see the whole ep! Then at 9:30/8:30c, stick around for The New Adventures of Old Christine. Christine and Richard must make some sacrifices to pay for increases in Ritchie’s school tuition; Matthew considers some extreme changes. Does anyone else find Richie’s teacher, Blair Underwood, hotter than hot?? OMG.

At 10/9c, keep watching CBS for CSI: Miami. While investigating a murder and kidnapping, the CSIs find dozens of pictures of missing women in a safe; as the CSIs try to find Boa Vista’s kidnapped sister, Horatio must find the killer. I know a lot of people don’t like Eva LaRue and her character (Boa Vista), but I really like her. And although Horatio Cane’s deadpan voice and silly hands-on-hips stance are getting stupid, I still love this show a lot. 🙂

Also on tonight:

TUESDAY
On Tuesday, turn on CBS at 8/7c for NCIS. Suspicious activity surrounds a decorated Marine veteran’s death, leading the NCIS team to try to clear his name. How frakken fantastic was their Halloween ep? Abby in her Marilyn Monroe costume and the boys’ reaction was priceless!

Then stick around for The Unit at 9/8c. Bob and his translator survive a helicopter crash in Siberia, where they must endure the harsh weather without their gear. Bob, Scott Foley, is one of the sexiest men on tv, imo! So I’m gonna love this ep, centered around him! Plus, will we see more about what happens with Tiffy??

Finally, at 10/9c, stay for the series premiere of 3 LBS! Dr. Hanson recommends brain surgery for a young violinist who suffers a grand mal seizure during a performance, but Seger suggests a non-surgical option. This looks like it’ll be a cross between Grey’s Anatomy & ER, so I’m hoping I’ll love it and that it’ll be a huge hit!

WEDNESDAY
Wednesday is a huge night for tv for me! I’m just glad I have 2 DVRs! At 8/7c, I’ll be watching the finale of Dancing with the Stars. I can’t wait to see who wins, between Mario & Emmitt!

Then at 9/8c, I’ll have to record one and watch the other of the premieres of Medium and Day Break. On Medium, Allison’s former lover, Clay Bicks (Thomas Jane), takes up residence in the Dubois house following his death; Allison discovers that she and her daughter are both having a similarly odd series of dreams. Gotta love this show! Their marriage is so great and true to life! Ya know, aside from the visions! 😉

On Day Break, accused of ADA Alberto Garza’s death, detective Hopper tries to solve the mystery; he and his girlfriend, Rita, get out of town in an attempt to escape. Come on, it’s Taye Diggs as Brett Hopper. If you don’t find him hot, whether you are male or female, then you must be blind. That is the finest black man I have ever seen! Hell, he’d probably be near the top of my all-time hottest males ever list. *melt* Plus, Adam Baldwin, Jane from Firefly/Serenity, is on this show as well, as the ex-partner of Hopper and ex-husband of Hopper’s girlfriend. Excellent!

Also on tonight:

THURSDAY
Thursday at 8/7c, watch Ugly Betty on ABC. Daniel attends his parents brunch in hope of seeing Sofia (Salma Hayek); Wilhelmina tries something she has never before attempted, cooking a turkey. I don’t watch this show, but does everyone on here like it?

Then switch over to CBS at 9/8c for CSI. The CSI team investigates whether the murders of identical twins are connected. I still love this show, even after all these years. *sigh* 🙂

At 10/9c, stick around for Shark. Sebastian prosecutes the racially charged case of a young black woman who was the targeted victim of a fatal hit-and-run moments after leaving a party in a wealthy white neighborhood.

Also on tonight:

FRIDAY
Friday starts out at 8/7c with a new episode of Doctor Who on SciFi. Rose is trapped in the orbit of a black hole; something ancient beneath the planet’s surface begins to awaken.

Then stick around for Battlestar Galactica at 9/8c. A pilot, believed to be killed on a secret mission years ago, escapes from Cylon custody and returns to Galactica. My husband loves this show. It’s his Saturday morning ritual to wake up before our son and me and watch it. Anyone else do stuff like that?

Then at 10/9c, I’ll switch to USA to watch a special new episode of Monk! Monk tries to reconcile with his estranged father. It’s a special holiday episode, before the new “season” begins in January. Yay!

That’s all this week folks! Enjoy tv now before it goes on holiday hiatus! 🙂
