Jenny’s This Week on TV

Hey everyone! Lots of new stuff on this week, including the premiere of several shows, including some fan favorites, so let’s jump right in!

SUNDAY

Sunday starts off the week strong with the premiere episodes of 7 (yes, SEVEN) shows! Catch the season premieres of The Apprentice: Los Angeles on NBC at 9:30/8:30c, The L Word on Showtime at 10/9c and the winter premiere of Hogan Knows Best on VH1 at 10/9c.

For new shows, check out the following:

Grease: You’re the One That I Want on NBC at 8/7c, has 3 judges holding open casting calls to find a man and a woman to play the lead roles in a Broadway production of “Grease”. The ORIGINAL Sandy, Olivia Newton-John offers advice to hopefuls. This was one of my favorite movies growing up. I’m excited for this and am hoping it won’t be TOO lame! lol

Over on VH1, Surreal Life Fame Game is on at 9/8c. Watch former Surreal Lifers compete in an out-of-control contest to see which celebrity is the most famous of them all! Probably going to be horrendous, but just wanted to let you guys know it was starting tonight! lol

Also premiering on VH1 tonight is Shooting Sizemore, starring yes, Tom Sizemore. lol Track the struggles of newly-sober problem actor Tom Sizemore as he tries to stay clean and revive his career. Why you’d want to do that, I dunno… hah

Finally, check out MTV at 10/9c for I’m with Rolling Stone. No, not THE Rolling StoneS, but the magazine, Rolling Stone. Follow six young writers with the opportunity of a lifetime — a summer working as writers for Rolling Stone in New York City. They’ll fight over assignments, struggle to land celebrity interviews and race against deadlines… all in hopes of seeing their words and bylines in the pages of the legendary music magazine.

Also on tonight:

MONDAY

Monday is another night of premieres! First off is Lincoln Heights on ABC Family at 7/6c. A young cop and his family move back to his old hood and find new struggles along with new hopes and dreams. It stars Russell Hornsby, who was in Gideon’s Crossing & guest starred in shows like In Justice and Grey’s Anatomy, and was in movies like Meet the Parents & more. Executive Producer Kathleen McGhee-Anderson is known for her writing on shows like Webster, Charles In Charge, The Cosby Show & many others.

Also premiering tonight is Gay, Straight or Taken? on Lifetime. It’s a “new kind of dating game” according to LifetimeTV.com. It pairs a woman up with 3 men for a series of dates, then she must decide who she thinks is gay, who is straight and who is taken. She has to select the straight, single man in the trio to win a luxurious dream getaway for the two of them. If she makes the wrong choice, the man she incorrectly chooses gets her prize instead. May be fun for something to watch while I work! lol

The other 2 premieres tonight are on VH1. I Love New York at 9/8c and Ego Trip’s The White Rapper Show at 10:30/9:30c. If you were a fan of Flavor of Love, you should remember New York from seasons 1 and 2. She’s back, along with her mother, and they will put 20 men through the paces, testing them on everything from their physical prowess to their “daddying” skills to their earning potential. The men who impress New York and her mother will get dates with the ladies. The men who don’t will get the door. Then, who will be the next great white emcee of the new millennium? That’s the question that will be answered on the new Ego Trip’s White Rapper Show. Both sound rather scary but should be good for some laughs at their expense. 😉

Also on tonight:

TUESDAY

No premieres on Tuesday, thank goodness! Check out a new episode of House at 9/8c on FOX. House makes a shocking revelation in a bid to save himself from jail time; a firefighter chooses to have a risky, radical treatment on his brain in order to keep a secret. I’ve read spoilers about tonight’s episode of House and it should be a doozy!

Also new tonight is the 2nd episode of Dirt on FX at 10/9c. Lucy sends Don on a controversial cover shoot; Willa tries to track down information on the birth of Blogan, the love-child of Blair and Logan.

If you like awards shows, catch The People’s Choice Awards on CBS at 9/8c. Queen Latifah hosts this year’s ceremony.

A special Happy Birthday goes out to the light of my life, my son Josh, who turns 9 today. He makes every minute worthwhile and I love him very much. Happy Birthday baby. 🙂

Also on tonight:

WEDNESDAY

Wednesday has a few premieres as well. First is Armed & Famous on CBS at 8/7c. Celebrities Erik Estrada, La Toya Jackson, Jack Osbourne, Jason Acuna and Trish Stratus undergo police training to become reserve officers in Muncie, Indiana. HAHAHAHA. Oi.

The other 2 premieres aren’t NEW shows, but if you don’t pay to get the extra channels (like we don’t), they may be of interest to you. Catch the Off-Network Premieres of The Sopranos on A&E at 9/8c (the first 2 episodes!) and The Wire on BET at 9/8c as well. My husband is over the moon about The Sopranos, so I have a feeling we’ll be recording them.

Also on tonight:

THURSDAY

Thursday is a great night for TV! If you are a country music fan, check out the 75-minute 5th Season Premiere of Nashville Star on USA.

If you were a fan of Rob & Amber from Survivor and The Amazing Race, check out their new show on FOX Reality, Rob & Amber: Against the Odds. Having wed on national television in 2005, Rob now wants to take the couples “Survivor” and “Amazing Race” winnings and parlay them into millions more by moving to Vegas and becoming a professional poker player. Amber, his ever-supportive wife, is not so sure about this. I can’t wait. This should be highly entertaining! LOL I love them, so excellent! 😀

Also on tonight:

FRIDAY

On Friday, catch new episodes of Las Vegas and Law & Order on NBC. On Las Vegas, one of Ed’s favorite former employees (Kate Levering) returns with her husband (Judd Nelson) to celebrate her wedding anniversary at the Montecito; Mary and Sam disagree about which guests are most important and fight for OK Go’s time. Then on Law & Order, the adopted infant of a soap opera star and a relative of the baby’s biological father are central to a murder investigation.

Also on tonight:

If that isn’t enough new TV for you, turn around so I can reach the back of your head, cause I need to slap you silly. Wow. I predict just a few (*laugh*) full TiVo’s and DVR’s this week across the US! Enjoy it and everyone have a great week!
