In related news, Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant announced today that they’ve decided to end their hit show EXTRAS in the same manner in which they ended the UK run of their first hit, THE OFFICE — with a one-off special. As much as it saddens this TV addict to see great shows leave the air. There’s something nice about having a hit show end at the height of its popularity. Rather than four seasons later as the network attempts to milk the show for every dollar it can. Remember five seasons back when THE SIMPSONS was actually funny? Anyone…
