Jenny’s This Week on TV

Welcome to a new week for This Week on TV! One week closer to the finales of some of our favorite shows and the premieres of others. (Eureka & Psych most especially for me!) If you are wondering what’s on this week, wonder no more! Just take a peek below.

SUNDAY

Sunday marks the season premiere of 2 huge shows on HBO. First up is the spring premiere of The Sopranos at 9/8c (HBO/TMN in Canada). Tony and Carmela travel to the Adirondacks with Bobby and Janice.

Then stick around for the spring premiere of Entourage at 10/9c (HBO/TMN in Canada). Vince’s new agent wants him to do a period film; Eric and Vince agree to have lunch with Ari; Turtle plans Vince’s birthday party.

Also on tonight:

MONDAY

Monday is the series premiere of Thank God You’re Here on NBC at 9/8c. Hosted by David Alan Grier and presided over by judge Dave Foley, it showcases the improvisational skills of a group of four brave actors each week as they walk into a live sketch without a script. The only thing they can count on when walking into each scenario is one of their fellow actors yelling out “Thank God You’re Here!” The premiere episode stars Jennifer Coolidge, Bryan Cranston, Joel McHale & Wayne Knight.

There is a 2nd new episode of Thank God You’re Here at 10/9c and stars Jason Alexander, Brian Posehn, Jane Lynch and Harland Williams.

Also premiering tonight is Falcon Beach on ABC Family at 7/6c. Lane claims the Tanner marina for the Bradshaw resort; Paige returns.

Finally, catch the spring premiere of The King of Queens on CBS at 9:30/8:30c and the 3rd season premiere of Run’s House on MTV at 10/9c.

Also on tonight:

TUESDAY

Tuesday is the 1-hour season finale of King of Cars on A&E at 11/10c. Also on A&E is the season premieres of Dog The Bounty Hunter at 9/8c. Now that they are married, do you think the show will change?

Also premiering tonight is the 3rd season of The Search for the Funniest Mom in America on Nick At Nite at 9/8c and the 14th season of The Real World/Road Rules Challenge on MTV at 10/9c! They are in tropical Brazil this season, so it should be hot!

Finally, tonight is the series premiere of Scarred on MTV at 9:30/8:30c. This reality show highlights the individuals and stores behind some popular user-generated online clips depicting crashes or spills.

Also on tonight:

WEDNESDAY

Wednesday is the season finale of a fan favorite, Friday Night Lights, on NBC at 8/7c. The Panthers prepare for the state championship; gossip spreads about whether or not Taylor will leave Dillon to coach a college team; Tami gets a surprise 10 years in the making.

If you are a fan of Til Death like I am, catch the 1 hour season finale on FOX at 8/7c tonight. Against Eddie’s wishes, Joy sets up his friend (Ted McGinley) with Denise; Allison surprises her parents when she brings Doug home for summer vacation.

Also with their season finales tonight are In Case of Emergency on ABC at 9:30/8:30c and Top Design on Bravo at 10/9c.

Premiering after Top Design on Bravo at 11/10c is the new show Shear Genius, with Jaclyn Smith as Host and Sally Hershberger as Lead Judge. The series puts the spotlight on the client-driven, high-end competitive world of hairstyling.

Also on tonight:

THURSDAY

Thursday is the season finale of Andy Barker, P.I. on NBC at 9:31/8:31c. Lew enlists Andy to investigate a dishonest doctor; Andy and Jenny lose sleep when their daughter misplaces her favorite toy.

Also tonight is the series premiere (2 episodes tonight!) of Notes From the Underbelly on ABC at 10:01/9:01c. Andrew and Lauren have just found out they’re going to have a baby, and they’re having a difficult time following rule number one – keeping it secret. Suddenly switching to decaf, becoming a teetotaler at cocktail parties, and going to the OBGYN are all difficult to keep from family and close friends. Well Andrew and Lauren are about to learn that, when the secret gets out, the politics of parenthood can be just as demanding as raising a child. Sometimes all that “help” from loving but intrusive parents and “advice” from well-meaning but competitive friends who are trying to show you what great parents they are is not exactly what you’re looking for. Knowing what’s best for the child could be the easiest part… maintaining your relationships with family and friends can be the real challenge. It will probably be funniest if you are a parent, so I’m looking forward to it! 😀

Also on tonight:

FRIDAY

Friday is the spring premieres of Stargate: SG-1 & Stargate: Atlantis on SciFi starting at 8/7c! Plus, tune in at 7/6C to learn about The Mythology of Stargate SG-1. This SCI FI Channel special will explore the myths and legends that have helped make Stargate SG-1 the timeless classic that it is.

After Stargate: Atlantis, stick around for the series premiere of Painkiller Jane at 10/9c. Starring Kristanna Loken (recurred as Paige Sobel on The L Word), this is the story of Jane Vasko, a DEA agent who is recruited by a covert government organization tasked with capturing “Neuros” – genetically-enhanced individuals who possess superhuman powers of the mind. During the course of her first investigation with the team, Jane inexplicably discovers that she too possesses extraordinary abilities – abilities that render her impervious to injurybut not pain. She develops miraculous regenerative powers, healing from every injury and finding herself stronger than she had been before. As she continues to work with the government to hunt Neuros, Jane tries to uncover the cause of her own transformation and what – if any – connection she shares with the very people she is pursuing.
