Jenny’s This Week on TV

Welcome to a new week for This Week on TV! I hope you had a great week last week! There is lots on this week, including several season finales and the series finale of a potentially great new show on USA called Burn Notice! So let’s see what’s happening!

SUNDAY

Sunday is 3 new episodes of The Loop on FOX at 7:30/6:30c, 8:30/7:30c AND 9:30/8:30c! First up, Sam goes to a business lunch with Russ, his friends from the airlines and Russ’ nemesis. On the 2nd episode, Sam’s failure to nominate Meryl for a prestigious award angers her. Finally, Sam opposes corporate sponsorship until he meets the sponsor’s cute new marketing representative (Christine Lakin, who played Alicia ‘Al’ Lambert on Step by Step years ago).

Also, don’t forget to check your schedules and see if NBC is starting to air Kidnapped at 12AM/11PMc tonight! They decided to air the 8 episodes that they didn’t air when it was on new.

Also on tonight:

MONDAY

Monday is the season finale of The Ex-Wives Club on ABC at 9/8c. This show was actually a lot better than I thought it would be. Very cheesy, yes, but I enjoyed it. Shar Jackson vs Britney Spears. Shar seems pretty, smart, funny and caring and Britney is a skanky idiot. So… yeah. Another proof that K-Fed is ridiculously stupid. 😉

How terrific was the season premiere of The Closer last week? It has officially become my favorite show in the last few years. On tonight’s episode, on TNT at 9/8c, a missing gang-member’s body is found with Lt. Provenza’s business card in his pocket and Brenda’s father calls. Won’t he be surprised at who answers the phone!

Also on tonight:

TUESDAY

Tuesday is the series premiere of Shaq’s Big Challenge on ABC at 9/8c. Shaquille O’Neal and his team of experts begin their quest to help six obese Florida youngsters become healthy and fit.

Also on tonight:

WEDNESDAY

Wednesday is a 65-minute new episode of Rescue Me on FX at 9/8c. The crew helps Tommy devise a plan to win back Colleen’s affection; Mike convinces Tommy to spend time together outside the firehouse; Jerry faces bad news about his future.

Also on tonight:

THURSDAY

Thursday is a huge night for tv. First up is the series finale of Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip on NBC at 10/9c. I know many of you are very sad about this and for that, I’m truly sorry. I know what it’s like when a show you love is cancelled too soon!

Tonight is also the final episode of The Starter Wife on USA at 9/8c. I’ve really enjoyed this quirky little mini-series. It’s been a fun show to watch when there isn’t a ton on!

Next up is the 1-hour series premiere of Hey Paula on BRAVO at 10/9c. This 30-minute docu-drama series provides a real-life look at Paula Abdul.

Finally, tonight is the series premiere of Burn Notice on USA at 10/9c. Starring Jeffrey Donovan (from Touching Evil), Sharon Gless (Debbie on Queer As Folk and Chris Cagney on Cagney and Lacey!), Bruce Campbell (Brisco County Jr!) and Gabrielle Anwar (Princess Margaret on The Tudors), the show is packed with a great cast. A spy, Michael Weston, receives a burn notice for an unstated reason, effectively firing him. He has spent the previous decade working for the government in Eastern Europe and returns to his hometown of Miami to get his life in order. Michael will stop at nothing to find out why. Shut out from his normal contacts, but still driven to right wrongs, Michael needs to stay under the radar in order to stay in the game.

Also on tonight:

FRIDAY

Friday is another new episode of Standoff on FOX at 9/8c. Matt and Emily try to save a boy taken hostage by someone who claims to have a direct connection to Emily.

Tonight is also a new episode of the fantastic show on the SciFi channel at 10/9c, Painkiller Jane. When Connor narrowly escapes a number of near-hit accidents, Jane starts to believe there’s more to his bad luck, and his past, than just clumsiness or coincidence.

Also on tonight:

Have a great week everyone! It’ll be another busy week for me as we begin packing (Yes, my husband got the job in Kansas City!) and start really looking for somewhere to live. We’ll go meet my in-laws in KC next Saturday to look at some places and hopefully will come home knowing where we will be living 2 weeks from then!
