Jenny’s This Week on TV

Welcome to a new week for This Week on TV! Ahh, I can almost smell the fall shows now. Is anyone else getting excited about the new season? The tv networks are beginning to air more and more of the promos for the new shows and I have to say, I’m REALLY looking forward to Chuck. He’s so freakin adorable and the premise is great. I can’t wait! But there are some good things on this week as well, so let’s see what’s playing this week!

SUNDAY

Sunday is the premiere of the new miniseries on Spike TV called The Kill Point. It is 2-hours tonight, starting at 9/8c. This 4-part miniseries stars Donnie Wahlberg and John Leguizamo as two men who square off during a bank heist gone horribly wrong and hostage negotiations ensue. Leguizamo plays the leader of a small group of military veterans who set out to rob a major bank in Pittsburgh and Wahlberg plays the Pittsburgh Police Department Hostage Negotiator. This looks fantastic! Nice way to spend 2 hours a week for a month!

Tonight is also the series premiere of a new reality show called Trick It Out on MTV at 10/9c. $15,000, 14 days, a beat-up old import and two teams of tuners who think they’ve got what it takes. It pits two top teams of Tuners against each other every week in a high-stakes competition to see who has the best skills in the land. Each crew of four Tuners gets a similar car to start with, 14 days, and $15,000 to do their very best cosmetic work. In the end, the teams are judged by a panel of experts – including R.J. Devera, the top Tuner in the nation – the winning crews gets to go home with its car, while the loser gets nothing but the satisfaction of giving it their very best effort. If you are a car fanatic, this show’s for you!

MONDAY

Monday is the series premiere of Saving Grace on TNT at 10/9c. Starring Holly Hunter and Laura San Giacomo, this unique drama is about Grace Hanadarko, a tormented, fast-living Oklahoma City police detective who, despite having an excellent career in solving crimes, takes self-destruction to new heights. After seeing tremendous tragedy, both professionally and personally, Grace reaches a turning point one night and meets a rough-hewn angel (Leon Rippy of Deadwood) with a similar past who wants to help lead her back to the right path.

Also on tonight:

TUESDAY

Tuesday is the series premiere of Damages on FX at 10/9c. Starring Glenn Close, Tate Donovan and Ted Danson, this legal thriller is set in the world of New York City high-stakes litigation and follows the turbulent lives of Patty Hewes, the nation’s most revered and reviled high-stakes litigator and her young protoge. Should be good!

Also on tonight:

WEDNESDAY

Wednesday is the season finale of Next Best Thing: Who is the Greatest Celebrity Impersonator? on ABC at 8/7c. My top 3 are Lucille Ball, Little Richard and Heartbreak Elvis. Whoo, he’s sexy!

Also on tonight:

THURSDAY

Thursday is the season premiere of Who Wants to be a Superhero? on SciFi at 9/8c. Last season was highly entertaining, if you don’t take it too seriously. I can’t wait for this installment! lol

Also on tonight:

FRIDAY

Friday is the season finale of The Gil Mayo Mysteries on BBC America at 9/8c. A cleaning lady is asphyxiated and left for dead at the firm for whom she works.

Again this week, don’t miss Jericho on CBS at 9/8c. On tonight’s episode, Jake, Stanley and Mimi find themselves fighting for their lives when they run into several dangerous strangers on a hunting trip. Mimi’s character really steps up tonight! It’s kind of a huge turning point for her! Don’t miss it!
