Emmy Picks 2007: Outstanding Drama Series

September 15, 2007 By theTVaddict 7 Comments

In anticipation of Sunday’s EMMY Awards, theTVaddict.com crew is proud [or not-so-proud depending on how things turn out] to present our 2007 GUARANTEED EMMY WINNERS [not really guaranteed!]. Check beck regularly throughout the week, as new categories are added. Agree with our picks? disagree completely? Think we take TV a little too seriously! Post your comments below.

Nominees (L to R):Boston Legal, Grey’s Anatomy, Heroes, House, Sopranos

theTVaddict Predicts:

Who I Think Will Win: The Sopranos
For the last time.

Who I HOPE Will Win: The Sopranos
That is until they’re nominated for an Oscar. Give it a few years…

Who Was Snubbed: Friday Night Lights and Dexter
Both shows will get nods next year, unless Emmy Voters find a way to reward The Sopranos again.

Amrie Predicts:

Who I Think Will Win: The Sopranos
This is the year to reward David Chase’s swan song season.

Who I HOPE Will Win: House
Grey’s was lopsided, Heroes is overhyped, Boston Legal had one really solid episode that lead to a surprise nomination. But House is so intriguing. No, it’s not the most amazing show ever, with shocks and twists, and turns, but you don’t always need that to make a show worth watching and rewarding!

Who Was Snubbed: Friday Night Lights, Dexter, The Wire
I’d love to shout from the rooftops that I think Friday Night Lights was, and will probably continue to be, overlooked. Nuanced performances, gritty real-life drama. Amazing stuff. Also, I’d be remiss to forget Dexter or The Wire, two of pay-cable TV’s best offerings in years.

Jenny Predicts:

Who I Think Will Win: The Sopranos
This is its last year. Who would deny the mob?!

Who I HOPE Will Win: House
I love Grey’s, I really do. But while they had several weak episodes and storylines (can you say Gizzie?? Blech.), House NEVER fails to thrill me.

Who Was Snubbed: Veronica Mars, Jericho & Friday Night Lights
Again, don’t ask me to pick just one of those three. My heart broke with the cancellation of the first two and I can’t wait for Jericho’s return! Even though I don’t watch FNL, I know it’s a great show that I should really try and get into.
