Jenny’s This Week on TV

Welcome to a new week for This Week on TV! It’s here, it’s here! Lots of shows, new and old, started last week and even more start this week. I’ll highlight the new shows and everything else will be in the list, cause otherwise, this will be 10 pages long! lol So let’s get started!

SUNDAY

Sunday has no new series starting but do take note that ABC is showing specials for Desperate Housewives at 9/8c and Brothers & Sisters at 10:01/9:01c to get viewers ready for their season premieres next Sunday!

Also on tonight:

MONDAY

Monday has some serious premieres! First up is Chuck on NBC at 8/7c. Chuck Bartowski (Zachary Levi) is a computer geek that gets catapulted into a new career as the government’s most vital secret agent. Besides Zachary Levi as Chuck, there is also Adam Baldwin as Major John Casey of the National Security Agency, Yvonne Strahovski as Sarah Walker of the CIA, Joshua Gomez as Morgan Grimes, Chuck’s best buddy, Sarah Lancaster as Chuck’s ever-supportive sister, Ellie, and Ryan McPartlin as Ellie’s awesome boyfriend, Captain Awesome.

Next up is The Big Bang Theory on CBS at 8:30/7:30c. Leonard (Johnny Galecki) and Sheldon (Jim Parsons) are brilliant physicists, the kind of “beautiful minds” that understand how the universe works. But none of that genius helps them interact with people, especially women. All this begins to change when a free-spirited beauty named Penny (Kaley Cuoco) moves in next door. Also starring are Kunal Nayyar as Rajesh Koothrappali and Simon Helberg as Howard Wolowitz, friends of Leonard & Sheldon.

Lastly is the series premiere of Journeyman on NBC at 10/9c. This is a romantic mystery-drama about Dan Vasser (Kevin McKidd, Rome), a San Francisco newspaper reporter and family man who inexplicably begins to travel through time and change people’s lives.

Also on tonight:

TUESDAY

Tuesday is the series premiere of 2 new shows. First up is Reaper on the CW at 9/8c. For the first 20 years of his life, Sam (Bret Harrison, The Loop, Grounded for Life) wondered why his parents went so easy on him. Everything in his slacker world changed the day Sam turned 21 and discovered the ungodly reason his parents let him slide: they sold his soul to the devil before he was even born. Satan himself (Ray Wise, 24, The Closer) drops by to personally explain that Sam must now serve as his bounty hunter, tracking down evil souls that have escaped and returning them to Hell.

Also tonight is the premiere of Cane on CBS at 10/9c. This epic drama about the external rivalries and internal power struggles of a large Cuban-American family running an immensely successful rum and sugar business in South Florida stars Jimmy Smits (The West Wing & NYPD Blue), Hector Elizondo (Chicago Hope & so much more), Alona Tal (Meg on Veronica Mars), Nestor Carbonell (Luis Rivera on Suddenly Susan & Richard Alpert on Lost) and Rita Moreno (Oz & more), just to name a few…

Also on tonight:

WEDNESDAY

Wednesday is the series premiere of Bionic Woman on NBC at 9/8c. Lots of hype of this one and I just don’t know if I’m going to be able to get into it. I guess we’ll see…

Next up is the series premiere of Private Practice on ABC at 9/8c. Another highly anticipated show. Let’s hope it gets better than it’s pilot.

The third premiere is Life on NBC at 10/9c. A policeman is set up for a crime he didn’t commit and sentenced to life in prison then exonerated and gets back on the force when he’s released from prison. I love this… a cop show with a twist. heh

Finally up is the premiere of Dirty Sexy Money on ABC at 10:01/9:01c. Donald Sutherland, who I don’t like, Samaire Armstrong, who I do… It’s a toss-up, but I think I’ll pass. heh

Also on tonight:

THURSDAY

Thursday is the series premiere of Big Shots on ABC at 10:01/9:01c. Angel fans should be overjoyed to hear the news that Charisma Carpenter is doing a stint on here, I’ve heard with the possibility of having a connection to Christopher Titus’s character. Very cool, yes?

Also on tonight:

FRIDAY

Friday is the series premiere of Moonlight on CBS at 9/8c. This series became appointment TV for me the minute they hired Jason Dohring from Veronica Mars!

Also on tonight:

Have a great week everyone! Enjoy all the terrific premieres!
