Jenny’s This Week on TV

Welcome to a new week for This Week on TV! Things are definitely slowing down in the world of TV. Only a handful of new episodes each night from now until the new shows start up in January. But that’s a good thing for my DVRs! heh Let’s see what’s happening this week!

Sunday

Sunday is the season finale of Dexter on Showtime at 9/8c. Lundy and the FBI settle the case of the Bay Harbor Butcher; Dexter’s world becomes an inferno.

Also tonight is the 3-hour season finale and reunion special of Survivor on CBS starting at 8/7c. Who will take it home? I dunno and frankly, at this point, not sure I care. Todd, I guess. Only cause I don’t like him the least. lol

Finally, tonight is the 90-minute SERIES finale of Extras on HBO at 9/8c. After becoming the star of a lowbrow sitcom, Andy discovers success is not what it seems.

Also on tonight:

Monday

Monday is the series premiere of 2 new shows and the season finale of 2 current shows. First up is the 2-hour series premiere of Clash of the Choirs on NBC at 8/7c. In an exciting four-night event series, Clash of the Choirs has tapped five musical superstars — Michael Bolton, Patti LaBelle, Nick Lachey, Kelly Rowland and Blake Shelton to embark on a musical challenge as they return to their hometowns to assemble an amateur choir and prepare them to compete live in studio for the title of America’s best choir. From December 17-20 the show will feature music genres ranging from current pop hits to holiday classics and the choir hopefuls will be judged each night by viewers watching at home.

Also tonight is the 90-minute series premiere of Duel on ABC at 8/7c. This high-stakes tournament-style game show will air over six nights with a guaranteed final winner taking home potentially more than $1.5 million.

Tonight is also the season finale of I Love New York on VH1 at 9/8c. New York makes her final decision in Jamaica.

It’s also the season finale of K-Ville on FOX at 9/8c. Cobb and Boulet begrudgingly take a New York reporter on a ride-along; while escorting their guest, the officers respond to a shooting call; challenging and unforeseen circumstances surface.

Also on tonight:

Tuesday

Tuesday is the season finale of several shows, including Saving Grace (on a special night!) on TNT at 10/9c and Frank TV on TBS at 11/10c.

It’s also the fall finale & last new episode of 2007 for a handful of others. So check out the list so you don’t miss anything!

Also on tonight:

Wednesday

Wednesday is the last episode (likely series finale) of Journeyman on NBC at 10/9c on a special night. Don’t miss what hopefully will be a good resolution for a great show.

Also on tonight:

Thursday

Thursday is the season finale of Clash of the Choirs on NBC at 8/7c.

It’s also a new special for The Wire on HBO at 10:30/9:30c. This 30-minute retrospective looks back at the first four seasons of the show, preparing for the season premiere on January 6th.

Today is also my 31st birthday. Happy Birthday to me! Weeeeeee! lol

Also on tonight:

Friday

Friday is the season finale of The Next Great American Band on FOX at 9/8c. The winning band, chosen by viewers, gets a recording contract.

It’s also another new special for The Wire on HBO at 10:30/9:30c. The role of the media is explored in this 30-minute special that focuses on the upcoming fifth season.

Have a great week everyone! Hopefully I’ll have some time next week but if things are a bit slow, blame the holiday! lol
