Jenny’s This Week on TV

Welcome to a new week for This Week on TV! What a crazy week last week was… Had a good trip to Des Moines, Iowa to visit the in-laws, although I am still sick with this blasted cold. Grrr. Lots of new stuff this week on tv, thank goodness! I’m going a bit stir crazy! 😀

Sunday

Sunday is a new episode of The Amazing Race on CBS at 8/7c. I could NOT believe that Don and whats-his-face took the fast forward last week and got tattoos! Kudos to them. 😀

Monday

Monday is the last day of 2007. Been a crazy year in TV-land! Not much on tonight. ABC has Dick Clark’s Primetime New Years’ Rockin’ Eve 2008 starting at 10/9c with hosts Dick Clark & Ryan Seacrest. Marysol Castro reports on events in and around New York; Miley Cyrus, the Jonas Brothers, Fergie (who just married Las Vegas star Josh Duhmal!) and OneRepublic are scheduled to perform.

FOX has New Year’s Eve Live starting at 11/10c. DJ Cat Deeley counts down to 2008 in New York’s Times Square; talk-show host Spike Feresten interviews partiers; 2007’s most-memorable pop culture moments; Jordin Sparks, Blake Lewis, Lifehouse and Fall Out Boy are scheduled to perform.

Finally, NBC has NBC’s New Year’s Eve with Carson Daly at 11:35/10:35c. It is the countdown to 2008 in Times Square with Lenny Kravitz and Alicia Keys scheduled to perform.

Tuesday

Tuesday is a great night for TV. Two great football games in primetime plus the season premieres of The Biggest Loser (Couples this time!) on NBC at 8/7c and the 1-hour premiere of According to Jim on ABC at 9/8c. In the first episode, God gives Jim the power to reinvent women; Andy asks God to make men more like women. In the second, Jim tries to cheer up Cheryl by forging suggestive notes from the handsome water-delivery guy.

Also, if you love parades, don’t miss the annual Rose Parade early this morning, starting at 11/10c! It’s on at least ABC, NBC, HGTV & the Travel Channel!

Also on tonight:

Wednesday

Wednesday is the season premiere & 2nd episode of Law & Order on NBC, starting at 9/8c. Linus Roache (Andy Archer) and Jeremy Sisto (Knapp), both from the short-lived NBC drama Kidnapped, join the cast this season. Roache is the new ADA to replace Jack McCoy, who is taking over as D.A. from Arthur Branch, and Sisto will be Jesse L. Martin’s detective character’s new partner. I’m so psyched! I haven’t been this excited about Law & Order in years. 😀 Hopefully this’ll mean a little less Jack McCoy, who I do not like. 😀 lol

Also on tonight:

Thursday

Thursday is the season premiere of The Celebrity Apprentice on NBC at 9/8c. This year, celebrity contestants, such as country singer Trace Adkins, actor Stephen Baldwin, gymnast Nadia Comaneci, boxer Lennox Lewis, Playboy Playmate/Miss Georgia USA 2001 Tiffany Fallon and more, are battling for charity. You can see the whole list of celebs here: NBC.com.

Also on tonight:

Friday

Friday is the series premiere of How to Look Good Naked on Lifetime at 9/8c. Starring Carson Kressley, it teaches women of all shapes and sizes how to go from self loathing to self loving without resorting to interventions like extreme dieting or cosmetic surgery.

Following that is the series premiere of Matched In Manhattan on Lifetime at 9:30/8:30c. It stars relationship expert Matt Titus, a “dating agent,” who matches both straight and gay singles in New York City looking for true love. Matt and his team, including his fiancee, Tamsen Fadal, attempt to expertly pair their oftentimes desperate clients who are unable to find a mate in the old-fashioned way — from singles bars and online dating to blind dates arranged by friends. But Matt and Tamsen go beyond the usual matchmaking by skillfully coaching their clients and giving honest advice on wardrobe, hair and make-up.

Finally premiering tonight is Top This Party, a new reality show on Lifetime at 10/9c, with a 2nd new episode at 10:30/9:30c. It follows elite party planners who throw extravagant, excessive parties and events for extremely wealthy clients. Seven episodes will showcase Brian Dobbin who, along with his volatile chef, Robin, create, design and execute wild bashes, which are known as “the Bentley of parties,” for the influential Southern California elite. The second seven episodes will be shot in Las Vegas around another event planner. Each week, the episodes set in Orange County will air at 10/9c, followed by the episodes set in Las Vegas at 10:30/9:30c.

Tonight is also the season finale of Women’s Murder Club on ABC at 9:02/8:02c due to the writer’s strike. Someone threatens Lindsay’s life; the women investigate the decapitation of a wine broker.

It’s also the premiere of Miss America: Reality Check on TLC at 10/9c. Take 52 beauty queens, put them all in 1 house for 4 weks to forget everything they’ve learned. The previews look hysterical!

Have a great week everyone! If you celebrate Christmas, have a great one. Happy Holidays!
