Jenny’s TV Guide: Thursday July 10

Thursday marks the series premiere of Greatest American Dog on CBS at 8/7c. Extraordinary teams of dogs and owners across the nation will compete for the title of Greatest American Dog. Owners and their pets – from “pageant dogs” to those simply trained at home – will live together and compete against each other in games that put the owners’ ability to train their dogs to the test. The winning team will walk away with a $250,000 cash prize. It is hosted by Jarod Miller. If you haven’t seen him before, he hosts some show on Animal Planet, I think and he does animal segments on Rachael Ray’s talk show. He’s hysterical and very fun to watch. 🙂

It’s also the series premiere of Dragons’ Den on BBC America at 9/8c. This competition series gives would-be entrepreneurs a chance of a lifetime and these are the most crucial three minutes of their life – to pitch their ideas to five self-made millionaires, aka the Dragons, who have the connections and the cash to make their business plan a reality. The Den is open for business and these multi-millionaire investors are ready to back the best ideas and innovations with hundreds of thousands of their own cash.

Finally, it’s the series premiere of The Works on the History Channel at 10/9c. Daniel H. Wilson puts complex subjects such as steel, motorcycles and power tools under the microscope revealing their history and unseen secrets and finds enough fascinating “did you know” facts that would make the most knowledgeable of history buffs scratch his head. My husband is gonna love this show! heh
