You’re Hired! 6 Actors Who Deserve Their Own Fall Pilot

With pilot season about to wrap up and the networks and studios putting the final touches on casting what they hope will be Hollywood’s next big thing. Or, in the case of NCIS and the CW’s MELROSE PLACE re-boot, that once famous actor whose career just so happens to be on life support (see: Chris O’Donnell and Heather Locklear.) This TV Addict thought now would be as good a time as any to highlight six actors who we believe deserve a shot to headline his, her, or their own pilot.

Liza Weil
Since Shonda Rhimes has ignored our continued pleas to page Liza Weil to Seattle Grace in an immediate effort to inject GREY’S ANATOMY with “3 cc’s” of much needed “characters worth watching,” we thought now would be as good a time as any to remind those in the business of show that Weil, having spent seven seasons stealing scenes from the denizens of Stars Hollow, would most definitely be a welcome addition to any new comedy or drama.

Dave Foley & Maura Tierney
If the CW and the seemingly endless incarnations of CSI, LAW & ORDER and NCIS have taught this TV Addict anything, it’s the following: Network executives love a proven commodity. Which is why, theTVaddict.com proudly presents a MAD ABOUT YOU for the next generation: The untitled Dave and Maura Project (Think GARY UNMARRIED but funnier.) You loved them on NEWSRADIO, and you’ll fall in love with them all over again on whatever situation one lucky showrunner (Paging Phil Simms) can build around them.

Irene Molloy
If this TV Addict controlled the universe, Irene Molloy would already be a star. But since we don’t (as evidence by Friday’s dismal ratings for TERMINATOR: THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES and DOLLHOUSE), the very least we could do is point out that Irene Molloy is the rarest of rare Hollywood gems. An actress who has the brains to match her beauty, plus comic timing to die for. Don’t believe us? Check her out for yourself when ANDY RICHTER CONTROLS THE UNIVERSE finally makes its much anticipated way to DVD on March 24.

Tom Amandes
And since no list on theTVaddict.com would ever be complete without an EVERWOOD shout-out, how does a reverse EVERWOOD sound? Imagine if you will, everybody’s favorite small time doc deciding to leave the only town he has ever known following the tragic death of his wife Rose in order to start a new life in a big city ER. And hey, if the whole doctor thing doesn’t work out, New York would be the perfect city to bring back Abbott’s Bagel Shoppe.

Alex Albrecht
Are you a television network executive looking for an up and coming actor who just so happens to have an already build in fan base of half a million or so desirable 18-34 year olds? Then, may we humbly suggest casting diggnation and The Totally Rad Show host Alex Albrecht in your upcoming fall pilot. He’s Chuck Bartowski in real-life and guaranteed to give your show that leg up in what is shaping up to be an already overcrowded field of new fall hopefuls.
