Tonight’s TV Addictions: May 31, 2009

WHAT WE’RE WATCHING:
2009 MTV MOVIE AWARDS (9PM MTV)
Also known as More Twilight Videos, with MTV, the network that used to have something to do with music and videos (crazy, right?) continuing to sell its soul for the desirable demos and viewers that will inexplicably sink their teeth into anything Vampire.

INTO THE STORM (9PM HBO)
Because nothing says counter-programming to Robert Pattinson and the MTV generation like Brendan Gleeson, who takes over for Albert Finney in a follow-up to the 2002 Emmy-Winning Winston Churchill biopic THE GATHERING STORM.

NEW & NOTABLE:
ANY DREAM WILL DO (8PM BBC America)
Aspiring actors vie for the lead role in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Or as Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber will no doubt be calling it in an effort to continue to milk Susan Boyle madness, Josephine and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.

AS SEEN ON TV (9PM CNBC)
Put down that ShamWow!, grab that Snuggie and listen up. Because CNBC’s Darren Rovell is about to tell us why we can’t stop buying crap that we’ve seen on TV!
