“Kristina’s boyfriend, Kiefer, was the real culprit,” explains Soaps In Depth executive editor Richard M. Simms. “That kid is a piece of work, and this isn’t the first time he’s roughed Kristina up. But like a lot of abuse victims, she thinks he’s sorry, and she believes that he really loves her, so she’s protecting him.” In order to do that, she had to point the finger at someone… and Ethan was the unlucky bloke!
“Ethan became friends with Kristina over the past few months, but she started to crush on him despite their age difference,” explains Simms. “She took his rejection pretty badly.” But the lie Kristina told is having devastating consequences all across the canvas. “It’s impacting everyone,” says the editor. “Jason is beginning to suspect that Kristina lied, which doesn’t sit well with his girlfriend, Sam, who happens to be Kristina’s big sis. That’s happening all over Port Charles as some people believe Kristina, and others are pretty sure Ethan’s not the kind of guy who would abuse a teenage girl!”
But the biggest drama is reserved for Luke and Sonny as they stand on opposite sides of the issue. “Let’s not forget that Sonny shot an unarmed cop, who later turned out to be his secret son,” reminds Simms. “So do you really think he’d have a problem killing Ethan for supposedly beating Kristina?”
