An In Depth Look At… ALL MY CHILDREN’s Miracle Baby!

Ever since Greenlee came back from the dead — a pretty regular occurrence in ALL MY CHILDREN’s Pine Valley — she’s been fighting her feelings for her hunky ex, Ryan. She even went so far as to marry the town bad boy David (although when he declared his love, she conveniently failed to return the sentiment). But a romantic getaway and an unexpected development could change everything for all three of them!

“Greenlee may not have said she loves David, but she sure slept with him,” previews Soaps In Depth executive editor Richard M. Simms. “And let’s face it, on soaps, there’s nothing like an unplanned pregnancy to throw a monkey wrench into the works. In this case, it could be a major stumbling block to any reunion for Ryan and Greenlee.”

Not that everybody out there wants to see the pair — who were hours away from becoming man and wife when she drove off a cliff (in her wedding gown and on a motorcycle, naturall!) and was presumed dead. “There are a lot of people who are really liking the David/Greenlee relationship,” says the editor. “It’s one of those great soap storylines where two people you’d never in a million years expect to like together really connect.”

Of course, the big question now becomes “is she or isn’t she?” After all, as Simms reminds us, Greenlee’s had babymaking issues in the past. “That’s why she had to ask Kendall to carry a child for her. No matter which way this goes, no matter whether the rabbit lives or dies, as they say, it’s going to present an interesting set of circumstances.”

The new issue also features ABC’s president of daytime, Brian Frons, answering some tough questions in an unusually candid interview. “We asked whether it’s time to phase out the mob on GENERAL HOSPITAL,” says Simms, who personally chatted with the exec. “And we also asked what the heck AMC does with Kendall if Thorsten Kaye (Zach) really doesn’t come back. His answers might surprise some people.”
