Emmy Predictions 2010: Outstanding Actress in a Drama Series

In anticipation of the upcoming 62nd Annual EMMY Awards (Airing Sunday August 29th at 8PM on NBC) theTVaddict.com is proud [or not-so-proud depending on how things turn out] to once again present our GUARANTEED EMMY WINNERS 2010*

NOMINEES: Julianna Margulies (THE GOOD WIFE), Mariska Hargitay (LAW & ORDER: SVU), Glenn Close (DAMAGES), Kyra Sedgwick (THE CLOSER), January Jones (MAD MEN), Connie Britton (FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS)

SHOULD WIN: Connie Britton, FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS
Unfortunately, despite her phenomenal work as one-half of television’s most endearing husband and wife duo, we’re fairly confident (save for a major upset) that the only speech Britton will need to memorize on Emmy night involves some variation of the phrase, “it was an honor just to be nominated.”

WILL WIN: Julianna Margulies, THE GOOD WIFE
Who not only delivered a top-notch performance in one of last season’s only break-out hits. But in doing so, helped send a strong message to the viewing public, who as of late, has turned to cable for complex drama. That message: Rumors of Network television’s demise have been greatly exaggerated.

SNUBBED: A long list of actresses…
… including Katey Sagal (SONS OF ANARCHY) and Lauren Graham (PARENTHOOD). And that’s just the first two names to pop into our head who are more deserving than the been-there-done-that-got-the-tshirt nods for Mariska Hargitay and Kyra Sedgwick.

*theTVaddict.com does not guarantee his “winning picks.” Do not, I repeat, Do not bet the house, kids or family pet on them!
