“It wouldn’t be a Port Charles wedding if something pretty awful didn’t happen,” says Soaps In Depth executive editor Richard M. Simms. “Especially when you take into account the fact that Sonny Corinthos is the groom! Let’s not forget that when he tried to marry Kate, she wound up being shot while standing at the altar. I mean, that’s what happens when you try to marry a Mobster!”
So what calamity hits Sonny and Brenda’s highly-anticipated nuptials? “As viewers know, there are a lot of things working against the couple,” previews Simms. “First, there’s Sonny’s ex-wife, Carly, who wants to blow Brenda out of the water. And she has the perfect way to do it, having discovered that the bride had a baby with the groom’s son.”
A secret baby, of course!
“Then there’s The Balkan,” continues the editor. “He wants to punish Brenda for the death of his son.”
So what winds up happening at the wedding? “Lots,” says Simms with a laugh. “All of Brenda’s secrets come out, but not necessarily in the way you’d expect. And of course, because this is GH, there’s got to be violence. In this case, what happens is a direct twist on Sonny’s history, and it will leave him reeling!”
