NBC Pickuppalooza: Find Out the Fates of PARENTHOOD, WONDER WOMAN, THE PLAYBOY CLUB & More! [Updated]

Mere days before NBC gets set to unveil their complete 2011-12 lineup in New York City, the Peacock Network revealed that joining the just-renewed trifecta of PARENTHOOD, HARRY’S LAW and CHUCK will be a flurry of freshman dramas, including: A 60’s period drama chronicling the ups and downs of a handful of Playboy bunnies (Amber Heard, Jenna Dewan) and the men who love them (Eddie Cibrian) appropriately titled THE PLAYBOY CLUB; AWAKE which is being billed as a small screen version of Inception starring Jason Isaacs as a police detective who can’t let go of his deceased family after a car crash; GRIMM featuring a police detective (David Giuntoli) who must face off against criminals inspired by Grimm’s Fairy Tales; Chelsea Handler’s semi-autobiographical laugher ARE YOU THERE VODKA? IT’S ME CHELSEA starring THAT 70’s SHOW Laura Prepon; A single-camera comedy centering around two quirky co-workers who call in love entitled FREE AGENTS based on the popular UK series of the same name; An Amanda Peet vehicle that mines laughs from a recently divorced mom called BENT; And BFF, a single-camera comedy centered on a woman (Jessica St. Clair) and her live-in boyfriend.

Not so lucky was David E. Kelley’s WONDER WOMAN reboot starring Adrianne Palicki which reportedly suffered from negative test screenings coupled with fiercely negative online reaction; A MANN’s WORLD revolving around a celebrity hairstylist (Don Johnson) by SEX AND THE CITY’s Michael Patrick King; A Civil War drama entitled RECONSTRUCTION; The Jimmy Smits drama METRO; And most disappointing of all, 17 PRECINCT which not only featured an all-star cast of BATTLESTAR GALACTICA alum including Jamie Bamber, Tricia Helfer and James Callis, but took place in a town ruled by magic.
