Emmy Predictions 2011: Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series

In anticipation of the upcoming 63rd Annual EMMY Awards (Airing Sunday September 18th at 8PM on FOX, CTV in Canada) theTVaddict.com is proud [or not-so-proud depending on how things turn out] to once again present our GUARANTEED EMMY WINNERS 2011*

NOMINEES: Kelly Macdonald (BOARDWALK EMPIRE), Christina Hendricks (MAD MEN), Michelle Forbes (THE KILLING), Archie Panjabi (THE GOOD WIFE), Margo Martindale, (JUSTIFIED), Christine Baranski (THE GOOD WIFE)

SHOULD WIN: Margo Martindale, JUSTIFIED
Having not actually seen an episode of JUSTIFIED (Rest assured, it remains firmly planted atop our TV on DVD bucket list), you should probably know that our level of appreciation for Martindale’s Emmy worthy performance pretty much boils down to the adulation she received from countless critics (including but not limited to the notoriously hard-to-please @hitfixdaniel!) during her stop over at the recent Television Critics Association Press Tour to promote her role in the upcoming new CBS series A GIFTED MAN.

WILL WIN: Michelle Forbes, THE KILLING
In a roller coaster-esque season filled with ups, downs and one helluva controversial ending, Forbes’ remarkable and heartbreaking portrayal of grieving mother Mitch Larson remained THE KILLING’s one constant.

SNUBBED: KaDee Strickland, PRIVATE PRACTICE
Perhaps lost amidst the increasingly soapy nature of Shonda Rhimes’ GREY’S ANATOMY spinoff was Strickland’s harrowing, not to mention often hard to watch performance as a rape victim survivor.

*theTVaddict.com does not guarantee his “winning picks.” Do not, we repeat, do not bet the house, kids or family pet on them!
