Since we have a feeling that in the case of FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS, it really was just an honor to be nominated, we’d like to think that the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences might take at least one opportunity to celebrate a big-old-fashioned breakout hit on broadcast television.
WILL WIN: BOARDWALK EMPIRE
Despite the fact that MAD MEN has walked away a winner from this category for the past three years, one has a sneaking suspicion that angry voters might look to reward the equally outstanding BOARDWALK EMPIRE as penance for creator Matthew Weiner’s very public, not to mention, incredibly lucrative contract negotiation that took place earlier in the year.
