Just when you thought things couldn’t get any more exciting for ONCE UPON A TIME fans thanks to Sunday’s one-two punch that has tonight’s brand new episode being preceded by a livestream of the hit ABC series’ PaleyFest Panel, theTVaddict.com thought it might be fun to sprinkle a little spoilers on this fairytale of a day. 5 spoilers to be exact direct from our recent press event with co-creators/executive producers Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz. For all those wondering when the denizens of Storybrooke might start to follow in Sheriff Graham’s dearly departed footsteps — who was one of the few townspeople to begin to show awareness of his fairytale alter-ego — well, you can stop wondering now. “It’s certainly going to be a part of the series going forward,” admitted co-creator Adam Horowitz. “The bleed between worlds is something we’ve played with and continue to play with, and the levels to which we’re going to go, we don’t want to give away right now.” Added Edward Kitsis, “I’d say I’d be pissed if something didn’t happen.”
While ONCE UPON A TIME puppet masters Kitsis and Horowitz were keeping relatively mum on their plan for young Henry, they would go on record with respect to two very important things. First and foremost, Henry does have a father, who will be revealed all in good time. “We have a very specific plan for that character further down the line,” said Adam. Also falling under the category of ‘further down the line’ will be the origins of Henry’s now infamous book. Said Kitsis, “We know that Mary-Margaret gave the book to Henry, but I think who wrote it and those questions will probably be something more for Season 2.”
Despite the series’ penchant for painting Rumplestitlskin in somewhat of a beastly light as of late, Kitsis and Horowitz were quick to point out that one of the show’s most hotly contested characters may not quite be what he appears. “I think that he is a complicated man and it depends which side and where you line up with his interests,” said Eddy.” He has an agenda and it’s whether you are in the way of that agenda or not. I think a lot of these characters have grey areas. There’s some humanity in him and there’s some [evil] and I think Episode 19 that’s going to give you more insight into Mr. Gold.”
Giving new meaning to the phrase like mother like daughter, an upcoming episode of ONCE UPON A TIME will introduce audiences to what is being billed as the mother of all evil. Yes, Academy Award nominee Barbara Hershey is coming to town, having secured the plum position of Regina’s mother. Not surprisingly, co-creators Horowitz and Kitsis couldn’t be happier. Admitted Adam, “Barbara Hershey is amazing and we’re just starting to cut that episode right now where she’s introduced and she’s just so much fun and so great.'” Concurred Kitsis, “We have a saying that ‘evil is not born, it’s made.’ And I would say that her mother has a specific viewpoint about the world.”
So just what did exactly Snow White to do the evil Queen to get her highness all in a tizzy. Mark Your calendars for the 18th episode of the season when producer Eddy Kitsis promises you’ll find out. “That’s its own episode and one we’re really excited about. That is the episode in which you’ll find out why the Evil Queen hates Snow White so much.”
